If no freeskiing, would you snowboard?

So I was just thinking, how passionate and die-hard are you about being on skis? Having two boards under your feet? Hypothetically, if you had to give up freeskiing and could only ski like the average joe, going down the same old groomed slopes all day, would you choose that over being a able to rock out on a snowboard in park, big mountain, ect...? Just curious.

Snowboarding is sick. If I couldn't ski pow I would obviously ride pow.

I guess I would snowboard because I dont mind our double edged heshin' brethren. I would probably end up doing both tho because I would miss skis.

i would definately go with a yes. only going down groomers would bore me, and id much rather ride park/pow even if that meant on a board. besides, i snowboard from time to time anyways, so i already know id be having fun

I would invent free skiing, and for a very short while be the best in the world at it. Then a 14 would destroy me in a game of "jib" and i would loose my title, but may end up rich because of all the attention my new sport would be getting.
If that never happened, yeah id ride a board.

i already got some blades (to my shame) so i'd rock out on them... i'd never board, last time i tried i ended up with 3 broken ribs, 2 bruised ones, 1 fractured, fractured nose and one hell of a headache... that's what happenes when you catch a front edge and fly superman style onto ice :( bad times lol...

i used to snowboard, then i converted so skiing, i realised the direction it was going and how dope it was, but i would do it again, snowboarding as rad, smooth riders make it look so good

Well back when I was a youngin' I had GS skis, so if I never got into freeskiing I'd probably be riding some fat K2s or something and skiing pow

I'm a skier. I'd stick with skiing. No disrespect to snowboarding but skiing like an average joe is pretty damn fun.

I would bomb the groomers for sure. I'm a skier at heart and that will never change. I'm always having fun as long as there are two board under my feet helpin me speed down the mountain.

straight up if I couldn't ski i would take splitboarding up...I have so much more respect for them that dudes riding normally...homeboys are sacraficing a solid deck so they can get to the illest spots

What kind of a stupid question is this?

Snowboarding fo sho. Super rad sport, I have tons of fun on the rare occasions I do it.

If someone took away my ability to progress on skis I'd definitely pick up snowboarding if I could.

but the first few seasons would be rough, because i am a terrible snowboarder. am i the only one who feels like you have to be way more conscious of your edges on a snowboard?

Before I fell in love with freeskiing, I did both for about 4-5 years. I started skiing when I was 3, started snowboarding at around 8, and did both till I was about 13, at which point the snowboarding kind of fell to the wayside.

So my answer? In a heartbeat. (From what I can remember), snowboarding in pow is just as good as skiing in it.

Not a question. Skiing groomers is kinda fun, but it wouldn't have the same appeal if you couldn't jib, jump, shred pow, hit cliffs, slide rails, etc. I've been contemplating giving snowboarding a go for the last season or two just to get some variety anyways, so being forced into it wouldn't be much of a sacrifice at all. It's practically the same thing, I just ski because that's what I started with and am better at and more comfortable with. The feelings I get from skiing would guaranteed be provided by snowboarding.

I would get 2 snowboards and slap some ski bindings on them. 150 underfoot would slay in pow.

i remember when i was younger id idnt know if i wanted to freestyle ski, people asked me if i was going to, and i was like no ill just stick to normal skiing, so i guess i knew the answer, although snowboarding is sick, it wasnt in my mind. id prob just stick to trees and stuff

i love skiing, but shredding groomers gets boring real fast (especially if you take out butters, switch riding etc...) i would definitely snowboard. i almost converted a few years back, before i realized how sick skiing is.
