the problem with skullcandy is they break easily. Also they just have really good bass. Beats have the same bass and better overall sound quality. its not even a question to go with the beats. plus you can get the best buy warrenty on the beats which last two years.

Don't drop more than $40 on anything skullcandy makes. For that much money they're hard to beat, but for any more there are wayyyyyyyyy better options out there. Don't get the beats either. For that kind of money get a pair of Sennheinser's. DO NOT GET BOSE. Bose is the Skullcandy of more expensice audio equipment. It's overpriced, and will not last for any amount of time. I broke 2 pairs of Bose In-ear buds in 2 months each. Honestly, the skullcandy's I have now sound better then the Bose's did, and have lasted longer.

Skullcandy is worst headphone company on the market.  Under no circumstances should you ever buy a pair of skullcandies.

That being said, I normally buy Sony just because they're cheapest.

I love skullcandys not for the sound quality but they are cheap they look good and they sound decent. The Skullcrushers are good for their price. They have a lifetime warranty on the parts if they just fail and if you break them you get 50% off any skullcandy product. Beats are way too expensive for me honestly but they are the best sounding headphones ever. I would take my skullcrushers up on the hill i would never take my beats into any possibly breaking situation..

i have had two pairs of beats and both of them have broke on me, thank god they have a solid warranty, beats sound sick but they are really the only expensive headphones i have had so i have nothing to compare them to other than skull candy and they definitely trump skull candy any day

They are both fucking garbage.  Get some real headphones by a high end German or Japanese brand, they can be had for around the same price as the shit you're suggesting.  Don't get sucked in just because of the ad campaign they have done for the beats.  They are crap headphones in the scheme of things.  Or if you just want to look cool/buy the popular item then do it, I mean for some people that's the best thing I guess.  Brands you could look into include Sennheiser, Grado, AKG, Audio Technica, and some of the higher end Sonys.

And just for the record the beats are WAAAAY better than the crushers, but still not worth their outrageous price tag.

The Skullcandys are absolute shit that should be on a shelf in Wal-mart, and the Beats don't sound as good as what you can get from Bose or a similar company.  They are flashy and cool, but trying them next to my Bose noise canceling headphones was pretty revealing.  I stuck with Bose after that test and they are awesome.

Yes I am. Bose sucks dick. Complete and total horse dong. At least Skullcandy isn't trying to sell headphones for 3x what they should. If you have money, don't get skullcandy's, but if you're on a budget they'll be decent. Pretty much on par with anything at the same price, and slightly below super low-end Senns. Bose is a complete fucking rip off. But OP, just get Senns.

I like skullcandy cause they support skiing, the quality of the headphones aren't nearly as great as the beats but then again you are probably paying a third of the price on average.

Beats, skullcandy, and Bose are all brands to avoid. Bose does sound pretty damn good, but their stuff is mad overpriced. Beats are nice if all you listen to is hip-hop, but I don't even like them that much for that. I preferred my Bose earbuds when I had them to the beats. And the only reason I've ever bought skullcandy is because I get them 50% off from working at Sport Chek.

Grado, Sennheiser, etc etc. Somebody above has probably mentioned the brands.

save up and get studio beats. theyre an orgasm waiting to happen. as for the skullcrushers i used to own those and they're decent as far as skullcandy goes but thats not saying much. go with the beats no doubt at all.

i have a solos and they are one of the best buys of my life, although the build quality is bad( and yet still better than skullcandys). Mine has broken 2 times but were replaced for free. I would highly recommend them.

They both suck dick.  I had two pairs of beats solo's in two weeks and both pairs snapped in half LOL.  THEY FUCKING BLOW.  sound quality is good, but build quality is PATHETIC.  Skullcandy all in all is PATHETIC. 

Get these, they are comparable to the beats earbuds for 60 bucks.  I own them, they're sick.

Check out some AKG's.  The DJ ones that cost around $60-$80 are nice and have good base.  I have the K 81 DJ's which they don;t make anymore but it's pretty identical to the current DJ ones they have.  You won't regret those.

What would you recommend instead of Icons for skiing headphones then?  Because there has to be one better that costs the same.  I'm actually being serious though, don't take this sarcastically, I just don't here of many other good skiing headphones other than Icons.

I have honestly had my crushers for about a year, no problems, and I love the sound. they wont compare to the beats, but i think its a better value if you don't have a ton of money to drop.
