Dreamy Line: Who Wants To Step-Up And Do It, When It's In Condition?

This is another unnamed line i found while skiing the south-east couloir, between the craigie doubs cliffs and little glas moal in mid march this year. The line it's self is on the left hand-side of the south-east couloir, with a mandatory 35/40 ft cliff on the bottom section and a spicy diagonal ramp, what involves navigating a small rock barrier guarding the middle.

It's just another line added to my ever growing list of dreamy lines i want to ski, before i grow old and wrinkly.

i understand that conditions need to be good and what not but didnt warren miller teach you anything about getting old and wrinkly?

It's about a 10 min hike/ski from the top of the glas moal poma, at glenshee ski centre in scotland.

the runout on the little cliff at the top looks fucking deadly. the lower 30/40ft looks scary too, but (barely) possible.


i dont think it could be done. mostly because here is nowhere to land after that first little drop.

Maybe from you're eyes it isn't possible, but from mine it is.

If it was banked out enough, the line could be skied if care. But to be honest, it is way out of my comfort zone and i really don't think it will ever be filled in well enough to even attempt. Even if it was filled in, it would take me a while to step-up and get after it.

It looks like after the first cliff drop you need to put in a really hard turn to avoid skiing off that massive cliff. Super dangerous.

How would someone pull a hard right after that cliff with only what looks like 15 feet of space?  That's the part that makes me think it can't be done without heading straight over the last cliff.

Possible? Yes. Gnarly as fuck? Also yes.

Mandatory drops in lines like that are never a good thing, but I'm not going to lecture you on line selection, as I have no idea how good you are.

If you did it in the winter, bump this thread! I'd love to see footy.

Exactly. It seems that you have a greater chance of flying off that cliff then making the turn. Then again, people do some gnarly lines. It would be a sick shot too, as you turn all the snow would fly off that cliff and look awesome.

At some point next year, i'm going to have a better look at the line and maybe hike/ski just the ramp section, to see if it's possible from top to bottom without the aid of a rope.

If i fell it's not possible, there is always an easier and not so dangrous, but steeper line called ghost couloir to ski on the otherside of the ceanlochan. Then again ghost couloir never came into condition all winter and it might not even be filled enough again. Only time will tell.
