My dad paints road bikes that he rebuilds and doesnt have any trouble with it, but idk with a full suspension. If you don't just rush into things I'm sure it could be done
Its a lot harder that it seems depending on how much effort you want to put into it. You can always just spraypaint over the current paint job and it will look like it took about 10 mins to do. The more expensive option is to take it to a place that does powder coating (unless its a carbon frame which cannot stand the heat required for podwer coating). If you want to do it yourself and have it look good, it will cost less but be pretty time consuming. You'll need to remove all the components and tape off the bottom bracket and head tube. Next you'll need to sand down the old paint. I recommend using a wire brush drill attachment because it goes much quicker (alternatively you can use paint stripper but its pretty toxic). Once the bike is sanded clean it with 409 to remove dust an oils. Next spray on layer of primer for metal. Let it dry and then sand it with 220 grit sandpaper and repeat two more times. Again clean the bike to remove dust and oil. Then pick out your primary colors and spray on top of the primer. Sand once in between coats with a higher (around 500 grit) sand paper. Once the final coat is on, sand it with 1000 grit sand paper and clean the bike again. Then spray it with 3 layers of clear coat sanding with 1200 grit sandpaper between each one.
