Final cut express uploads to vimeo

Whats up guys, i just recently got final cut express on my mac, ive used it before in a media class in highschool, made a bunch of edits but the teacher always did the final exporting and stuff. i want to upload my 3 minute edit onto vimeo but whenever i export to quicktime movie its like 1.5GB and vimeo only lets me do 500mb. I need help! ++karma

When you export, limit data range to 5000kbs for non-hd or 8000 for hd footage

export using quicktime conversion

make it an mp4 (not an mp4 (isma))

use the h.264 codec

set the data rate around 5000

I usually export at high quality and then use quicktime to "export for web" so I can upload it, that way I can have the High Quality video still, so you can do it this way so you don't have to re-export it in FCE.

i'm having trouble keeping size and quality when i export my gopro videos out of final cut express

i'm using h.264 but as soon as the video shows up on my desktop it's stretched horizontally and the quality is much worse. then when i upload it to vimeo it is not in hd and the quality is TERRIBLE. what are the settings so that in the export it looks like it does in final cut?

This is what i do

Frame Rate: current
Key frames: all
Encoding: Best Quality(multi-pass)
Data Rate: For a one minute edit i put it at around 30,0000, for a two minute edit around 25,000, and three minute around 15,000.
Size: 1280 x 720

but if you can't get it small enough, just get vimeo plus, it sucks to pay but it's great not to worry about movie size
