Ok, i must say on here that last year, (09/10) was my last year of skiing. I am not switching to snowboarding or anything. If you want to read these, please do, its worth it. if not. go to sparknotes at the bottom.
Before haters come in and flame me, i have to say that this was thought out for a fuckin LOOOOONG time. It all came down to the issues of time and money. As some on here know, i play soccer a lot, and that soccer is my passion. It is something that i actually have potential in, and can get somewhere in the future at the professional level, not chelsea, real madrid level, but potentially 1st league in poland, japan, etc. smaller country's / leagues. yes you may think its a joke but that is still a high level of soccer.
I right now am on the course of getting a half scholarship to Quinnipiac University in CT to play D1 soccer there. What i have to do is keep my grades up, and continue progressing and getting better and getting more noticed.
I am now playing academy soccer, which is a level above premier. This is where the time and money issues come in. I live in CT and i will have ZERO, that is 0 home games, meaning in CT. The academy season starts november 18th, and continues through may. I will have 4 major tournaments within this time, two in the winter. One in Texas and the other In Cali. Both of which will require plane tickets, and hotels for one week. Every weekend besides that i am either in NY, PA, NJ, NH, VA, or Delaware. not every other weekend, or once a month. I mean EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND. through the entire ski season. My parents and i did a calculation of the cost of this. Its over 15 thousand dollars. and thats for this one year only.
Now, I am gonna get a ton of shit for posting this probably, but i felt it'd be cool to let NS know. Call soccer a pussy sport, do whatever, say im a fag for doing this, but im in pursuit of a dream and for those who dont know soccer is my life and has been since ive been 4. Skiing was what i did in my spare time, did for fun, and did to hang out with friends. For me, it was a past time essentially. I've just been so wrapped up in soccer, its become one thing i cant find time for.
Some may say that i should do it during the weekday, but i cant. I have 3 practices a week, not including my individual training i have ( 1v1 with a trainer and working out ).
Just i'd like to see some people show some respect about my decision and see it from my point of view and my position.
Sparknotes : Have to stop skiing because i have soccer every weekend and i am pursuing my dream of soccer and have soccer 7 days a week (not sarcasm/exaggeration) . Over 15k will be spent this year only on soccer alone. No time or money at all for soccer.
What i would like to say though, is i still will be hanging around in NS, and possibly will be putting up my FT booters and my Afterbangs and shit up for sale here.
