Thinking about the GoPro?

You thinking about the GoPro ehh, well I wouldn't get one just yet. Why you ask because it is almost impossible to get a good shot. As you should already know there is no lcd screen on the back so you don't know if your to close or to far. But fear not fellow newschoolers a solution is right around the corner. GoPro said they are going to release a attachable LCD screen called a lcd backpack. However this was predicted to come out spring 2010 and here we are still no lcd. I talked to a GoPro rep and they said before the holiday shopping season, but I don't know what to believe now. Here is my test video with the camera and I have to say,with a lcd this camera would be very hard to beat. Here any news about the gopros or lcd screen please share.

Yea I talked to them yesterday as they were in Whistler, and they said that the lcd bacpac, plus a battery bacpac will be available in december

I think they should release the Hero 960 as the low price model, and still keep the Hero 1080 the way it is, but also have each available with an LCD screen built in for like 100 more so the 960 would be $280 and the 1080 would be $400
that sounds reasonable, because an attachment seems iffy
I just hope to god the Hero 960 has 720 60p

in my experiences you just get to know the camera and where it shoots. Since the lense is so wide, it's pretty much you'll get whatever you point it at. I'm sure the thousands of other gopro customers can vouch as well.. a screen is a cool idea, but not a make or break item. to me it's just another piece that can break or drain batteries!

yeah, you just have to play around with it and you'll figure it out pretty quickly. I agree 100% in that the lcd would just be another delicate part that drains batteries. It would be cool to review shots, but just not worth it for me.

yea i talked to them last weekend. no 60fps on the hero 960, and also no port on the back which just means you wont be able to attatch the lcd or battery pack when they come out.

Yes, but you will need a new case to accompany its size.

960 will have no 720 60 fps setting for sure. The support person that answered that email was mistaken
