certainly some good ones that stand out/pop very well..like them alot

they all looked sick to me. I liked the first dog one the most, so cool. but on the last one i would suggest not blurring it so much and just let the chair stand on its own. but otherwise they were all sick!

some good ones, but i don't like the tilt shift ones, it doesn't add anything to the picture
i know it your new toy, but when you are taking the picture make sure to still think about composition

here is a TS shot i really liked from the fredmiranda forums

Yeah a lot of those photos were phenomenal, I especially like the one above the rock pile photo, but I agree with the TS, the first one in the second group you posted was good, but other than that I just thought it was a little much.

On your road/trail picture. I think it would make it better if you maybe were standing in the ditch instead of on the road. Because everybody sees it from that view...

Your pictures are all so good though man. Keep it up

mmmm, gonna have to agree with michelle and despite. It looks like a lot of them are underexposed and the colors are seriously suffering. Overall, the subject matter is a bit pedantic and underexplored. If you're at the beach, take some landscapes and such but really try and explore what it feels like being there, what about it matters to you and try to convey that through the lens. As a personal opinion, I'm not a huge fan of the lens baby (it worked alright on the Lifeguard tower tho) because it is often trying to mimic effects created by much more expensive lenses (ie tilt/shift or super-fast lenses that can stop down to around f/1.2) which makes the whole shot look like a sloppy version of what it should be. In regards to subject matter and composition things were looking a bit snap-shotty. Too many exhibit a lack of creative framing or alternative angle. Lots of people have taken the lonely road shot, so how do make it different? Maybe change your perspective or add a new focal point (ie, something in the road) to make the shot more interesting.

Sorry if any of that sounded harsh, but you've got a clear passion for photography and I think you definitely show some promise.... so keeeep shooooting!

I really like the white boat and moaring one. Very calming and well composed. The Winding road ones on you flikr I also really like. The road draws your eye to the horizon nicely. The Vineyard ones are cool because I play around with photos like the rock ones from aqquinah (however you spell it) every year when I go there. haha.

One criticism. I thought the first shot of the trees and lake in this thread was kind of dull. Pretty basic half and half trees and water and the color wasn't that exciting. Maybe play around with different angles and focal points.

But keep the shots coming I like them.

how do you like your lense baby? and what setup are you using? i can get a cheap one. my dads girlfriends brother is the director of marketing for them or something and i have to decide if i want one, or a different lense. sorry to threadjack

I agree with all of this. Also, on your landscape shots (the ones at the beach, for example) you should not have the horizon right at the center of the shot. Get more sky, or more ocean/beach, but dont have equal amounts of both. For example, if you wanted to focus on the beach and water, get up higher and point the camera down a bit so only about 1/5-1/3 of the frame is sky and have more of the frame devoted to what you want the viewer to notice the most, the beach.

thats a REAL tilt shift lens. jacks is cheap. reall ones are 1000 or so and those look really nice
