does haveing a symetrical park ski really make a diference compared to a ski like the ar7 wich is something like a 117-85-107 how would that compare to the fully symetrical ski like the blue steele what are the diferences?
what you really need to do is buy racing skis, mount them backwards and just ride switch everywhere...
jk, I've used both in park and it hasnt really made much of a difference to me but I can see where some people might like symmetrical skis better for hitting or landing jumps switch, it really just depends on how comfortable you are riding backwardz
Some companies (like Armada) don't think symmetrical or true center mounting is a good idea... other companies think it is a super good idea. A lot of it comes down to personal preference and how much time you plan riding switch.
I went from riding a symmetrical ski(Invaders and Afterbangs) for 3 years, and now I am on chronics. I cant really tell the difference anymore, but when I first switched over I hated em, It just takes a while to get used to after riding a certain ski. Really all personal preference too. Id like to get back on to the Afterbangs this year.
From riding a symmetrical ski and a non symmetrical ski, as long as they were mounted center, they both felt the same, but if you mount a asymmetrical ski back, it does affect the performance
i have the '10 kung fujas which isn't symmetrical but designed to be skied switch with ease, then got myself a pair of moment jibs, symmetrical, and you can tell the difference going backwards.
not a huge difference but in my opinion it's there...
