I actually gained some respect for soccer because of these. The one with neymar was insane he is such a showmen, and Ronaldo has dangles for days.

Meh, it's trickery and you shouldn't need it. Be confident in your first shot. If you're pussy footing around like that you're giving off the impression that you lack confidence and can't hit a shot from 12 yards.

this "trickery" is what makes soccer the beautiful sport it is. all he did, was completely make a fool of the goalie. this is the equivilant to a meg when your dribbling, except this was done in a shot.

I agree, trickery on the field is a huge part of the game. Verbal trickery and such are just as important as any move. However, goalies are basically boned in a PK especially at the professional level. If you're going to capitalize on a 1 on 1, do it with a little bit of dignity, shit.

ok . let me just break the steps down, on how this penalty kick is about 5x harder than a regular one.

-before you go to take a pk you pick a side to shoot on and you stick with it. you dont change your mind mid way through, cuz when you do, you miss.

-you put your head down to take the shot, in which you take it with pace, speed, and momentum behind the ball.

-when you do this, your running at pace, looking down pretending as if your going to hit the ball. you stop your foot right behind the ball( no more pace, speed or momentum behind the ball now).

-you then have one split second to go to the opposite side of where the goalie is. take too long to decide, the goalie is back up on his feet, and you are screwed.

-the only power you have now is a stationary swing of the foot, in which you cant get power behind the shot. but be careful and look at the video cuz his foot is planted, he fakes it, then hits it again, while his foot was planted the whole time. that takes a ton of balance, so you dont pass the ball, cuz if you do, your pk is over.

-if the goalie stays in the middle, you are in a dump, because now you have to take a shot, equivalent to the power of a 16 years old pass.

-this also takes balls. it takes confidence to take a pk in itself, but let alone, have the confidence to take a pk like that. now that says something about the commitment and confidence in himself of the player...

now rethink what you said before, and look at how stupid you sound.

what the fuck? The whole time I read your little list I knew that you were going to bring up the fact that you're taking the shot on a planted foot. If you truly see this as a difficult task to hit the ball with enough force to carry it 12 yards then you need to work on the leg strength there, bud. However, you brought up the fact that you need to have one side in your head, and not change it. I agree with this, every pk I've ever taken I've always aimed right netting with right inside of foot. I take my run, and don't change my mind, this PK is probably the easiest in the book and of of the best. However, his run in looked like he was trying to get something off his shoes, thus he had plenty of time to think about what he was about to do. I agree it takes confidence because if you miss you're going to look like just a little bit more of a tool than if you make it.


At the professional level, goalies always pick a side, there is not enough reaction time to react off which way the ball is traveling after the kick, it's always a guessing game of body language and eyes. Any respectable goalie will take his dive, and if you can't kick the ball to the other side of the goal then you suck dick.

That was completely differnt, he didn't have to take virtually two shots. That was trickery in body language, and he never stopped his run. This also verifies my fact that any goalie at the professional level is going to pick a side and dive. That was a great PK.

that was just a chip, happens all the time. Ballsiest chip of all time i think was Zidane in the 06 final. No other player in the world at that time would try such a move at such a crucial moment.

the neymar pk though was unexpected which is why it got the keeper. i think they banned penalties like that now. They've gotten pretty specific on how you have to take them. I know the c.ronaldo style of stopping your run in, then resuming was banned

And it depends on the referee, I'm working on my grade 7 cert and I basically call it on how douchey the shooter acts while taking it. I never call the runs where you run in for a right footed shot then curve around and take with your left, those are beautiful if done correctly.

Yeah, I thought you couldn't pull back after a fake anymore.I thought you can't swing in, stop, pull back, and then shoot.(correct me if i'm wrong) That's why i thought that pk was kinda shit. I mean it was clever but it wasn't necessary.

that penalty everyone is talking about...

isnt that forbidden? i thought it has to be one fluid motion when you start to run towards the ball until you shoot. i am pretty sure this is not allowed anymore, or anybody would trick the goalie 20 times until he chooses one corner.

Ah, after watching the PK again, pause when Neymar takes his actual shot. Notice the position of his teammate who was making the run in. Anyone familiar with PK rules? That goal shouldn't have counted.

Yes it isnt allowed to be done. Why it counted i dont know but i know that most PK shots have to be one fluid motion because of this. As a keeper when someone does that on a PK its complete bullshit. The goalie has a 50/50 shot at saving a PK. you have to guess what side the player will shoot and go for it. Thats exactly what the keeper did. Almost every keeper has to guess on shots. As the shooter is coming up they have a mindset of which way they are going and once the shooter begins to wind up for the shot, you go for that side.

That PK shot takes no skill and no whit. It is simply the shooter looking to see where the keeper guesses, and then passing it the other way. A 13 yr old could score that PK.

haha to be honest. im very dependent on youtube. i get payed, and its cool. its a way to get feedback on your shit. for the videos in which i post up songs, i have 1200 subscribers and i get payed on that channel. now i made one more channel in which i post up songs of people up and coming, which will bring in bank soon.

its a way for promo. its a good way for money.

Agreed. When trying to make the keeper look like an asshole by doing that, you look like an even bigger asshole for thinking it is cool to make the keeper look like an asshole. How about you score the goal with some class and get back to playing the game the right way?
