A Word of Advice For Anyone Going To Camp for the First Time

I thought about giving any first timers this advice after the 'Pros on the Site' thread. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do not bug the pro coaches on doing fucking tricks. they are there to help YOU improve your skiing. Most pros will be able to help you through simply verbal instuctions. so dont ask them to do a switch rodeo or 900 in the pipe unless you are going to try it and you want some live demonstration. if they say no dont bug them, coaches dont wanna break their necks as much you dont. if you just want to see them do something big just to see it, WATCH A VIDEO! and like i said, they're pretty normal people.

hey were you at session 3 last year in, like group 3? cause the main reason for me writing this was this one kid who kept bugging Philou. this was last year where philou was hurt for a lot of the year and Philou got all wierd and depressed n shit.

Usually the campers go insane anyhow, thats where I witnessed some of the most impressive tricks in person.

Ya, just for te people who dont know cause im sure most do. the pros only go big for their sponsers, cause if they dont they ont stay sponsered, most of the time they throw slightly easier tricks when they are riding for themselves.

What you just said is the exact opposite of Chris Turpin. He'll throw down whenever he feels like it! It'll be a crappy rainy day and he'll stay up the mountain all day practicing tricks and just having a good time with locals and pros! He's amazing!
Hey! therealgomer, did u do sms 3 years ago? i was there up on the glacier in group 3. there was this guy that tried a mute but did a messd up huntony and we called it the gomer grab. was that you?? that was some funny crap man!

i dunno what camp you went to (whoever started the post) but i coached at COC last year and all of us loved having kids asking how to do stuff all the time. the coaches are out there to help kids get better, both by explaining how to do things, and also showing them how to do things. most pros/coaches love skiing just as much as everyone else and want to push themselves too. so when a group of campers wants to see something sick, we love to throw down. you gotta remember that we are getting paid to make sure the campers have a good time and learn some stuff too. the coaches know that kids come to the camp not only to improve their skills, but to meet the pros and see some of the good shit that goes down in person. at least from my experiences, i would say talk to the coaches as often as possible, be friendly with them and definitely do not be afraid to ask them to throw down. if for some reason they don't, then just let it be at that and maybe the next day they will come out and kill it.
