Meh, I didn't really see where he was "supporting" it - I think he is just saying to let people do what they want.
And as much as it pains me to say this, I agree. I can't believe I found myself liking Beck more than O'Reilly, but I mean thats kinda like pick your poison.
I think he was (albeit inarticulately) trying to say that it is a non-threat so long as we don't impact the church's rights, and therefore acceptable. Quoting Thomas Jefferson, even, to illustrate his point.
Glenn Beck overall is crazy, but that's how he has been able to make his millions of dollars. However, he did sum up how I feel and I bet how a lot of others feel about Gay marriage, and that is as long as it doesn't hurt me I could care less. It's really hard to find fault in that statement if you ask me. I don't really see what there is to discuss here. His stance isn't really subjective. For once Glenn was actually somewhat rational.
...except that wasn't at all connected to what he said about Gay Marriage, and the OP was about Glenn's stance on Gay Marriage. Pretty sure Glenn clearly made that distinction in the video.
I think its ridiculous that he says the solution is to regain religion. A: America is not burning, and B: even if America is burning, religion wouldn't stop that, the two are supposed to be separated
I don't agree with that, but when you think of religion's overall goal (love thy neighbor, dont kill or steal, community, honesty, blah blah), you can KIND of understand where he's coming from. But then theres the whole bit about believing an invisible man in the sky made planets and live and everything that I can't really swallow
looks like despite my post count ive been on NS for 5 years and I have only ever seen you make retarded pissed off ginger comments and its really not that cool...lighten up big guy
my dad watches glenn beck like every other day and he falls asleep like 15 minutes into it everytime. i don't know why but its kind of funny. he has them recorded to watch if he wants to take a nap haha
I personally think that Glenn Beck in 100x more sane than O'Riley. Bill's only goal is to scream as much as possible, and draw attention to himself through bad publicity. (Hey, bad publicity is still publicity)
Glenn on the other hand, actually isn't afraid to take a stance on something, and is passionate about what he does.
I'm 99% sure that most of the people hating on Beck in this thread have never actually sat down and listened to an entire show on the radio. He, and the other guys, are VERY entertaining. The mock the media and make a ton of funny cracks at people. The only thing I really don't get into, is some of his speeches get a little more religious than I am. The closest thing I can compare it to, is that it's the Dan Patrick Show of politics.
I honestly want to challenge some of the haters, for one week, listen to his show, all the way through, 3 hours a day. If, at the end of the week, you still want to say he's crazy, then fine, you made an attempt. But just don't watch the highly edited clips on MSNBC or CNN, and form and opinion on him.
Fair enough. At least you formed a somewhat educated opinion based on what you have seen and herd yourself. I can't help but assume that you went into the shows with an skewed view of him (as did I), but I can't say you're wrong, as it's your opinion.
