Chronic mounting thread

If you think about it, it's either true center or recommended core center. If core center is the best place for carving with the ski, then nowhere else will be as good as mounted there so mounting it a true center, -1, -2 whatever wont be as good as recommended for carving. True center is easy to get used to for carving and is great in the park, I'd say go with true center if you plan to use them the majority of the time in the park (I mount all my park ski, symmetrical or not, at center, and I have no problem carving around the mountain when I'm taking a break from the park).

yeah thats pretty much what i was thinking and theres no way im going to mount um at reccommended. thanks for the help dude. id give u some karma but youre already at 10/10

i really don't like to mount asymetrical skis true center, they just weren't designed for that. i've been rockin chronics ever since the 1st gen and i've felt they perform best around 2 or 3 from true center if u want a park/all mt ski. rec spot (around +5) is stil great but will limit you a tad bit in the park all though it will slay everywhere else. i dunno man, i just wouldn't mount true center a sweet pair of chronics... maybe i'm old school but i'd just get some symmetrical skis for that.

yeah ik what youre saying but im going to be using these skis to hit bigger jumps and rails about 90% of the time. i like to ski in the trees but in southern vt its hard to find a day where theres enough snow to ski anything but the park

get some anthems then, or some stiffer volkl walls. both still perform great outside the park

Skis are only "meant" to be mounted at recommended. Therefore, they are not meant to be mounted where you mounted them either. I agree 100% with Flashkick, either go all the way or none at all, I see no benefit by going 1 or 2 back. I like the feel of asymmetrical skis at center, and its real easy to get used to.
