Putting my dog asleep :(

His name is Murphy, he's 14y old right now and has been suffering from severe artritis for the past 2y, he's been taking high doses of cortisones to counteract it and as a result of that he developed several tumors and has become incontinent...

Right now he has a lot of trouble walking and breathing + he needs to go outside every 2hours, incl. at night .....

We decided it's time to put him a sleep, the vet is gonna come tonight and put him down :(

Fuck this shit ! I love my dog and it sucks so hard to lose an animal you basically grew up with !

I was more depressed when we put my first dog down then when one of my grandpas died (he really wasnt that big a part of my life tbh but still)

dude i have a black lab thats almost 13 and he has the same problems, heavy breathing, arthritis in his back legs so its hard for him to do stairs and walk and shit, and hes senile and goin deff etc, hes not at the point that he needs to be put to sleep but it sucks watching you dog get old

We're going to have to put my dog down soon :( she stumbles all over the place and her teeth are getting bad so she can only eat soft food now. It's kinda cute when she falls asleep sitting up though. We have had her for almost 14 years now. I hate that she sleeps in my room now because i'm afraid I'm going to wake up one morning and find her dead...

i completely get that and im the oldest of 5 kids, whenever your just feeling down your dog is always there to bring you back up and it doesnt care how your day was, its just glad to see you

for like fifteen years my parents had a black lab named Sadie Ladie Valentine cause she was born on Valentines Day and what not, well look at this im already gettin teary eyed. They had here from pretty much day one till the very last a few years ago. She was an awesome black lab who over the years got sicker and sicker. Arthritis, blindness, deafness, and getting worse. About 3 or 4 years ago we had to put her down. And i was only like 11 or so then (15 now) so it didn't hit me as hard as it does now when i think back to how amazing of a dog she was. emotionally there for you anytime of day. +vibes i feel your pain

I was thinking about that today. I took my dog to the vet and he had that look of fear being in there but he seemed so comfortable as I pet him. To see him smiling is one of the greatest feelings. He always has my back. He has given me more laughs than anyone else has. I hope I'm not around when we have to put him down. ++++vibes man.
