Essentially every year, when the new Madden is released, the athlete pictured on the cover gets injured during the following season. To reference some previous athletes; Mike Vick broke his leg following his appearance on the cover of Madden, Sean Alexander performance was severely hindered by his toe injury(i believe?) in the season following the release of Madden.
Today, Drew Brees was socked clean in the face by a "fan" at the Patriots preseason game-ish thing. The season is still young, infact it hasn't even started yet, but the onslaught of misfortunes may just be starting.
On a different note, though I'm a proud Patriots fan, i'm a little distraught that one of us would stoop that low. the Saints aren't even one of our rivals, and from what i understand, Drew Brees is a pretty good guy. Whatever, massachsuetts is full of drunk Irishmen anyway so it's bound to happen.
