What do you miss most about old ski movies?

My list:

-Broken grinds on urban rails.
-Rodeo 7's and 9's.
-Puffy (not tall) outerwear.
-Segments with music that isn't thug or reggae.
-Octos, truckdrivers and other double grabs.
-Bigass bomb drops.

not having music that was so bad, i sometimes mute it and blast my own tunes
the gnarness and awesomeness
i liked seeing a super gnarly ledge 270 out, instead of triple swap pretzel on a flat rail

but pretty much everything about the old msp stuff (SKI MOVIE 3!!!)

i dont know maybe i am completely alone when i say this, but i really dislike how movies these days flash to just two quick seconds of a jump and then to a new scene and to another....i like to watch the skier land, ride out for a while or hit another cliff/jump. i dont like to see just two seconds of a quick jump.

I remember when first seeing the segment where fujas did the roof drop to rail, it was all i thought about for weeks,

when straight airing huge hips at mammoth was the thing to do

not having movies bother with the same cliche talk about progression and individuality etc. that formula isn't really repeatable like the rest of the movie. If i watch a ski movie i want to see skiing, that's it.

but i'm glad chad's gap is back.

Less gangster/ super stylie people. I just don't identify so much anymore, since I don't buy a new XXL suit/ long T every season (or ever).
I also liked the simple tricks that were still so big and so memorable. Everybody knew about Seth's cliff cork seven, or Pep/ Pollard 180 at that spot, or that triple kink, and so on.
Now it's just ridiculous.

What I don't miss: No butters, samey grabs, and everybody mashing their face into the ground when they landed big things switch.

Hmm yeah I said it kinda wrong, I don't mind seeing people all stylie, but I like some personality to shine through.

I remember Steel Spence as some kid who always had a big smile in his segments, I felt like I could kind of feel who he was. Now all we see from new kids is bandana. Because seeing someones face is uncool.
I don't keep track of the who's who because I don't really give a shit anymore.

as of the old movies that got me started, swollen members, the epicness of the most "basic" shit ever like the cornice drop after the rail ala eric pollard that rowen pointed out...
