What do you miss most about old ski movies?

My list:

-Broken grinds on urban rails.
-Rodeo 7's and 9's.
-Puffy (not tall) outerwear.
-Segments with music that isn't thug or reggae.
-Octos, truckdrivers and other double grabs.
-Bigass bomb drops.

kris ostness, parental advisory, nick mercon and greg tuffelmire, jf cusson, boyd easley, the fact that this incarnation of the sport was actually still brand new... and yeah, punk music.... and greg stump too. and the sw. 7 true nose mutes jon did at wsi big air in 04.

-Creativity. like the transition scenes between segments in Long story short (the snow machine contraption thing) or the time-lapses in TBC. or how movies had a loose theme, story line, or somthing that connects it from start to finish.

-Rider segments

-park-o-saurus and the other old park shoots

- there was no "what has skiing become?" "What does it mean in my soul" "why do i ski" retrospective bullshit in older movies

and all the riders that are to many to list...

Crichton in forward, zero, sw 1, sw 3, both sw 7s, sw 10. consecutively

Tanner in ski movie 3, throwing rediculous slo-mo sw cork 7's with that banging all white oakley outfit

Candide just sending it in ski movie 3 and clearing the hip, lj should have went for it at JOSS... would of been legendary

Young Jon Olsson not speaking your language in sessions 1242, and absolutely killing it with an awesome segment.

hahaha yes! i watched War today and was cracking up at his intro.

also adding:

-Getting stoked on switch hits in the pipe.
-Everyone having long poles.
-Summertime urban with full ski outerwear on and very little snow.
-Gigantic hips.
-Watching the same trick thrown natural and then unnatural off the same feature back to back.

1. Massive jump set ups; transfer gaps table tops, step ups, huge jumps whit rails in the landing, jumps where the kicker pointed straight up! etc.

2. Crash segments!! and not just some crashes in the credits

3. Hitting sick plenty-kink-rails in the summers; so they need to fetch snow from ice rinks or whatever

4. Real flippy rodeos, and not just flatspins

5. Truck driver, Double mutes (Gitar grab)

6. Jacket and pants in same plain color haha

7. Sick BC booters, Chads gap! very stoked to see that again in revolver!

8. Road gaps!
