I agree. I read somewhere that if you have 10 mil, you wouldn't be able to spend it all in a lifetime if you lived as a normal person does and didn't accumulate any more money.

trump donated a hell of a lot more than that. the guy has been bankrupt for as well. he is an incredibly bright guy, works insanely hard and does lots for the city of new york as well as many other charitable functions.

YEah I agree rich people are fucked up. THey are so goddamn frivilus(sp). It drives me crazy. Do they really need a $250,000 car or multiple 20 million dollar homes. Hell no. SHare the welth you greedy bastards. ALso as far a taxation goes all of the bighgest companies in AMerica don't even pay taxes because of all the crazy lopoles(sp) and outsourceing and stuff like that. It just crazy how there are some many people struggling to make money and this rich people are spending what a person earns in a lifetime on a car they hardly drive. Even here at college I see it. THere are kids driving around in car \s that cost more than my tuition for my whole four years. And here I'm working my ass off just to try to pay for next semester.

if you were to toss out the income tax all together, and institute like a 9 or 10 percent sales tax it would get everyone in proportion to what they spend. and eveyone would have to pay it including illigal aliens, tourists and citizens alike whenever they spend money in our country.

^depends on what you call rich, average middle class pays 34% (roughly) on their income, while anyone that makes over 800,000 a year pay less than 15 percent. I might be totally wrong, Im trying to peice together facts that I heard.

Do you realize that the top 5% of Americans pay for over 80% of the taxes? They are also the same people that stimulate this economy, they are the people that operate American businesses, that provide jobs, that buy American stock, and that donate money. Like it or not, it is because of these people that you have a job and that America is what it is. The truth is, you can't win against the rich. They spend millions and learn everything they can in order to protect their investments. Sure, you can try taxing them even more, but they are rich for a reason. They will take their business elsewhere and put their money into foreign markets - which would only further hurt America's economy.

You could even try taking everyone's money, throwing it into one big pile and dispersing it evenly to all citizens. Do you know what would happen? Those same people who were once millionaires would become millionaires again and the once poor would return to that state. Some of the wealthy have been given it easy their whole life and don't know what it's like to work for their money, but the majority of the wealthy have their money because of strong work ethic.

Did you know that the average millionaire hits bankruptcy at least 5 times in his life time? The average American isn't willing to take the chance and put everything on the line in order to achieve success, so they may hit bankruptcy once in their lifetime and then give up.

big companies dont make the money, their owners do. at the expense of their workers. Its just widening the gap between rich and poor. The people who run the companies make big money because they are the most efficient. The most efficient have the lowest costs. That means shitty wages for the people who do the work.

of course this doesnt apply to all industries and companies, but major things like meatpacking and most consumer goods.

And Ghostdragon, what your talking about is straight out of Thomas More's Utopia, about the how there will always be 3 classes, and the lowest class will remain there.

the reason poor people have no money, is one there dumb and two have bad luck, in canada at least the more money you make the higher percentage of money you get taxed something like or 50% in u are upper middle, i agree with how ever siad it should be a unviersal percentage across the board

/\ if it was a universal tax, among other countries, it wouldnt work because of the currency difference. if you are talking about taxes being the same for all the classes, i think that poor people, even thou it is their fault, they should be taxed less, until they get back on their feet financially.

^true communism can never work, because it is based completely on theory. Ya in theory it would be good if wealth was idvided equaly, and everyone was happy with what they got and experienced a good standard of life. that's not the real world though. in the real world, people want to be rewarded for the work they do, they won't like to share it with people. communism doesn't take human nature into account, so it could never work in real life.

its bullshit that you think the only reason that poor people are poor is becuause they're to lazy or unlucky to make money. The problem isn't the fact that theyre stupid, its that the government hasn't put in the effort to educate them so they can learn how to handle money efficently. Instead of worrying about taxing the upper class we should be helping the impoverished reach a standard level of social equality. There's no reason that anyone should be starving or without health beneifts in the richest nation in the world.

^^ volunteers to what? give up their hard earned money? in a perfect world, people would see a poor person on the street, and give a 5 or 10 dollar bill, because they know that that person is in greater need. we don't live in that world. in reality, people assume that the beggar on the street will spend the money immediately on drugs or alchohol, wihch may or may not be true. in reality, people usually shake their heads and say, sorry, can't help you, pretend to not hear them, or even make a rude comment. you'll never get enough people to voluntarily part with their money to actually make a difference, its a nice thought, but it won't happen.
