there is so much more to driving that people dont realize. people think its all about picking the right line and then just driving hard. all the basics like the line, braking, downshifting, car control etc... are really just the basic's that have to become second nature. like edging on ski's or just riding a rail or doing a straight air..
sooo much just goes into every point in the corner, its not just turning in at the right point, its how you set the car up to be as fast as it can be at that one specific point. weighting the front/back, each side of the car, and using the brakes and/or throttle and steering input, easing off the brakes, transfering from brake to throttle, your using each of these to do it. this and many more things at mid corner and exit too.
its not just driving the car at 100% of its potential all the time, its knowing what every aspect of the car needs to be doing at that one specific point and getting the car to do that as well as you can with brake throttle and steering. without sacrificing the other points of the corner to do it.
and there is just as much involved with setting up the car.
