VIDEO CAMERAS AND WATER

so last night i got hit with a waterballoon with my video camera in my hand. now the zoom and focus are malfunctioning, and the camera is clicking. i still have warranty, so i'm going to try and bullshit my way into a new camera. if not, do any of you have experience fixing/getting cameras fixed? what are some prices i'm looking at for fixing this?

uhh dude if its under warranty your gonna get a new camera. just dont say water got all over it. just be like yeah its not zooming anymore, dunno what happend. they will ship it out and look at it, but since u got water on it nothing can be found. come chips probable just got fried and their is no way a tech from the company can tell that you fried the chip. so jsut go tell them it stopped working and you will deffinately get a new one. trust me i am a computer engineer and i deal with circuitry on a daily bases and i know thats what would happen if u got water on it, and i know u cant trace it back to water.

I left my cell phone out in the rain and it got full of water, but then my mom had this water/chemical stuff you soak it in and it drys up all the water inside and makes it work again. I have NO clue what it is, or if it will work for a video camera.

my gl1 got completely soaked at a pond skim but i turned it off right away to let it dry out and its fine. my cell phone that was in my pocket died though cause my pants got wet

i dropped a gamegear in a full sink one time, i let it dry and it worked. but a couple years later something died inside so now it doesn't work any more

yeah i turned it on right after it was soaked, and it was fucked up so i turned it off and opened the tape holder and left it open all night. this morning it was still broken so i think i fried some shit.

hmm my story to contribute is that i actually dropped a portable phone in the toilet, took it out, changed the batteries, and it works fine, except one part of the viewscreen is all wierd tinted and jacked up

around 6-7 months ago my computer shorted out when a screw fell onto the mobo, it literally melted a hole 2 inches across in my motherboard and fried everything except the hard drive and cd player

yeah when i was super-baked and drunk i dropped my cell phone in a toilet and now it works fine, just let it dry out really well, and if not send it in and do what d-loc said
