Replying to Debt, I figured it out!
Ok, hear me out. But I reasoned that debt is the way government controls society. Its a combined effort between government and empirical multinational companies can take over your mind and fighting power. Here it goes:
Lets define debt first: debt is a credit, an owed property lent by someone with available funds to another person who lack the economic means to purchase a good or service. This good or service can be a luxury or a need.
We are progressing in a world filled of luxuries, we do tend to forget the difference between a need and a desire. Notice how advertisement are all luxury items. The adverts for these products, or services, have been becoming more and more aggressive and always aimed toward normal everyday people such as you or me. Why do you ask? Well its simple, the rich ( or people with power) either dont need convincing because they have the means to pay for it, or they already own it. So, you can say business want the working class to buy luxury products. But who has the means to push such adverts over and over and be able to show it everywhere? Farmers? you wish! Small producers? no funds. Multinational companies? bingo. There are more adverts for Mercedes than smart cars.
Now, that we are tempted in buying these objects or services, people in the working class must in-debt themselves to be able to receive this item. The access to credit is now easier than ever, anyone can get a credit card for 5000$ if your over 18. So what holds us back?
Now that you have debt, you must pay it off. Laws have been put up to protect banks or credit offering companies, you simply cannot not pay it off. So what are the means of paying it off? Theft? not is you hate jail. Work? makes sense...
Now keep reading, work is an awesome way to pull someone out of society. Work occupies the mind and body. More work means less time spent listening to the world, people and ideas, because you are focused on paying off this debt. Hence, you cant protest, or infect people with logical reasoning. By the way, logical thinking degrades if you dont use it, so you become more a drone, than human when work takes over. To prove this point, the baby boomers in the 70's were in college, free time and low spending budget gave them time to see whats happening in Vietnam. When they graduated, their cause dissipated. No one has time to protest anymore.
So were does government step in? The government's duty is to keep the nation prosperous at all costs. The bigger the potentials, the more aggressive marketing and trade agreements must become. Government opens the door to trade, its up to companies to take place in the competition. So how companies get government to fight for them? Lobbying! Lobbyists spend millions in convincing (or corrupting) politicians to fight for them. So both sides get what they want. The more horrors multi national companies commit, the more money they spend to hide it. Best example: Nike.
Lets take another side on it. The Iraq war. The reason why Iraq was on the Bush's scope was because oil companies saw huge investments in that market, but like diplomacy failed, force was used to de-stablize the country, making it easier to enter the country and set up oil companies run by the States, in middle eastern country. The Taliban saw this coming ( the poorest of poor people). Kinda makes sense doesnt it? If not you, have been too busy to care about it or you had heard enough of it or worse, you a apart of it. An occupied mind will not see this, numbed by expenditures and greed, we forget we are human.
So if you stand up against the empire, you will not be heard, if you take action, you will arrested...removed from society by police. Another job...
Holy shit that is huge! And there may still be holes due to omission.
