Kidney stones...

I just found out that I have a 5mm kidney stone. Has anyone here had a serious issue with one that required a hospital visit or did you just let it pass naturally? I'm nervous that it's going to hit me when I'm in a public restroom somewhere

I've heard that stones that are 1-5mm can usually pass on their own and anything above may need removal. I figure that I'll just buy some percocet from somebody and drink lots of water. I really don't want to have to go to the hospital or anything because I don't want to have to have a tube rammed up my dillhole to pull it out.

it'll be much better to be sedated or to at least have some form of anesthetic and have a tube stuck up your peeper than to pass a boulder on your own

there are different things a hospital can do to remove/shrink/etc. for kidney stones.

idfc how big they are, if i ever get them, you bet your ass ill be in the emergency room

So i was just looking at the threads and noticed "kidney stones" and I was like what the fuck. so obviouslly I HAD to check this out. I don't know much about kidney stones but 5mm seems REALLY large. so i guess all i can say is good luck getting that out

if you're not keeled over from the pain right now then it should pass without you even knowing. both my parents have had several kidney stones and it looks like the worst pain ever. it sounds horrible but usually you just pass them without problems. It's when they are in your kidney that they are really painful.

My uncle had one. Its not pleasant. He ended having some sort of laser treatment to get it broken up because it wouldn't pass.

My dad gets em' all the time. He usually pisses em' out but they're real bad, he never gets in pain but wails when he gets kidney stones. He's probably pissed out ginormous ones. But one time recently he got one that he couldn't piss out and they had to go up his dick and laser all the kidney stones in the vicinity out including the current one. He screamed so fucking bad when he had to take a piss I thought he was dying. Good luck.

My dad went to high school with a kid who got one every month. Closest thing I have ever had to that is a catheter with no doping or anything, most painful experience of my life.

Ya it's called a lithotripsy. I had a fairly good sized kidney stone for which I had this procedure done. The procedure itself is really not bad. you are put under and sound waves are used to break the stone up. The only pain I felt was where they sent the sound waves through was a little sore afterwords, but nothing bad, especially compared to the pain of passing a stone. But just because the stone is broken does not mean that it still wont hurt when you pass the pieces.

I remember I was sitting at my girlfriends sisters house and all of a sudden i was getting a super sharp pain, so I went home. The whole ride home it felt like I was being stabbed repeatedly. Finally when I got home I took the most painful piss of my life and passed what looked like a star exploding. No lie this fucking thing looks like a bunch of salt crystals all put together. To this day I have no idea why it is called a stone, because it does not resemble any stone I have ever seen.
