so i went to the ice rink today to do some summer skiing/free sledding for a summer edit, and theres a ton of snow. im almost done building the setup and the cops, take my license, and warn me if anyone is caught trying to do this again they would be cited and get a ticket. They make me clean up everything and leave. I dont get it, ive always sessioned there before and no one had a problem, i always cleaned up after myself and never broke anything, I even brought my own box rail. Now im gonna have to put the snow in my car and bring it back to my backyard setup. Just letting everyone know so they dont get in trouble...

Did you ask them why? Kent is a public uni which means that land is public.

i didnt really get it, they said we could hurt ourselves or others, but thats bullshit, we couldn't hurt anyone else, and its not their problem if we get hurt. I think they thought we were gonna break stuff or leave a mess they are just ignorant, they saw a couple of teenagers and freaked out...

it sounds dumb but its a liability. if you get hurt THEY are responsible. whatever happened to the rail though?

yeah. i was super surprised to see them there.

I was the kid that was skating, and after you left my buddies rolled up and the cops talked to us about skating on campus and shit...

the rail has been gone for awhile, and i brought my own box so its not like we could damage any of their property... no more preseason sessions at kent, now were gonna have to bring the snow home

yeah its funny how last summer, the cops didn't care for shit, and now they just kick everyone out at first sight, oh yeah and you can't skate anywhere but sidewalks anymore...some total bs
