hmm... not sure if its a good deal or not.. but I think its not an amazing one.
I would (and just recently have!) opted for buying the body alone (do it local, cheaper than B&h prices, or at least it was for me) and then supporting with a higher quality lens set (which I already have. I just upgraded from 50 to 7D)
Kits suck. You don't need most, if not all, of those accessories. $2,500 could get you a camera, 32gb CF card, extra battery, follow focus + rails, and a couple primes. Don't pay extra for all that kirkland signature shit.
dont buy 32 gig cards. i wouldnt even buy 16s. id buy a couple 8s. that way a) they are less likely to overheat (overheating=noise) and b) if god forbid a card gets corrupted you dont lose all your footage.
and yeah, that kit seems rather pointless.
your better off getting body only, a few primes or one higher quality zoom lense, and a tripod+glidecam or other stabilization for moving shots.
i personally dont think a follow focus is essential, its nice to have, but if you have lenses with smooth focus rings its not the end of the world
If you are going to take this seriously, i'd start with a 24-105 f/4 L because you don't need too fast of an aperture *snows fucking bright* and it gives you a good length for zooming as well as covers most of the common focal ranges.
8 gig cards give you, eh, 25 minutes of recording each, 30 if you're lucky. 16's are fine, 32 is a stretch.
Lenses, I'd say a 17-40 4L, a 50 1.4 (look at older glass if you want all manual) and something else. If you can, a 70-200 4L would be awesome, or maybe a 100 or 135. Tokina 11-16 2.8 is also a great wide. Depends on what you want. 24-105 4L isn't a bad call either. Look for a used one, its the main lens sold with the 5D so you could probably snag a discount.
Glidecam for sure. A nice tripod if you don't already have one.
Follow focus and rails are really nice to have. I have a D|Focus, really cheap and works well. A mattebox and some 4x4 filters (polarizer, ND) would also be a nice luxury.
Sound: get a zoom. h4n, or if you aren't paying a lot of attention to it then a zoom h1. Buy used for the h4n, you can find a great deal on it.
