Post tonsil removal

so i searchbarred this and couldnt really find anything useful...i got my tonsils out monday morning and so far its been the worst pain i have ever experienced in my entire life despite the amounts of percocet i have been given..what would you guys reccomend to ease the pain?? how long did it take u guys to recover??

Hey, i got mine out 2 1/2 weeks ago and I am still struggling. I lost 15 lbs because I literaly couldn't eat anything. The perks help but what i found was best was just yogurt or pudding or like not hot creamy soup. It was def the worst pain I have ever been in. I couldn't even eat ice cream like everyone reccomends. I have been to the Dr. 3 more time since my surgury and they just keep giving me more pain killers.

I was definatly not expecting such a painful healing.

a friend just got them out, a week later.. was sitting after dinner, realised he had tomatos in the lasagne for dinner which is apprantely errosive to whatever they seal it with, five minutes later, spewed up so much blood and solid parts of his throat.. wass nasty, it apprantely happens to a certain percentage of all patients.

Haha... after my tonsil's were removed I had some yogurt and then Clam Chowder for dinner.

duude sorry.

i got mine out at 18. worst pain i've gone through, lost 15 pounds.

percs percs percs and popsicles.

I found ice cream to make it worse, the dairy messes with the wounds.

I got mine out when i was like 7 and ill i remember doing is eating ice cream. The doctors gave me meds tho which seemed to work well on me. But its proboly because you bigger and the tolerance is larger.

The difference of tonsil surgery from being 7 to like 16+ is drastic.

Kids heal from their surgery in 3-5 days. I didn't eat solid food for 2 weeks.

It's hell. Even with a high dosage of percocet.

i Feel for you man.. i got mine out at the beginning of summer and it sucked soooo bad! 10 days is the magic number! my mom kept telling me that and i didnt believe her cause i woke up on the 10th day feeling the exact same but by the end of the 10th day i had my first bite of real food and was able to eat from there on and i got ALOT better every day past the 10th. I found that eating ice cream SUCKED because it made my spit really thick and it was even harder to swallow. I started eating plain Chicken Broth. may not taste the best but it was somthing to get into my stomach and it soothed my throat a shit ton for a little bit. But other than that, sleep alot and keep up with drinking water! + vibes BTW its SOOOOO much better once they are gone!

go buy some weight gainer protein if you want to keep your weight up just drink a couple shakes a day until you are able to eat whole foods again. but you will rarely get sick anymore, it is definately worth it. if you snore lots you are fucked worse pain ever when you wake up after snoring all night
