Hopefully someone gets the sunny reference, but I just want to get people together to talk about their degree plans. I wish I had more guidance when I was younger and spent way more time on these forums. Maybe this will end up a how-to guide for the bulk of NS, which I assume the average age of is 14-17 or so? I'll start it off even though I still don't know what I want to do. I've got an Associate's Degree in Media Communication. There we did everything from journalism to video/television production. I'm 3 semesters away from my Bachelor's Degree in Business-Administration. After that, who knows what i'm going to do. Definitely not me, so what's everyone else doing?

I have said this countless times, but if you are undecided, get a Mechanical Engineering degree. You can literally do anything with this degree. Who would you hire for a sales job for example, a guy with a communications degree or the same guy with a ME. You could go to med school, law school, anything. It is the best degree anyone could get.

I would rather have a ME from a state school then a communications degree from a well known liberal arts school.

You will work harder in college but hey work hard play hard and you will be miles ahead of your peers.

I think haveing the equilivent of an associates in ME should be mandatory just to eliminate stupidity.

Problem with me is I love ME just as much as EE, it just depends on where I go in 5 years after school, airforce loves EE, nasa loves both

Does your school even let you classify yourself as a dual major? Because that's like an additional 5 classes. My school will only give you one diploma if both degrees are through the business school.

Anyway, I'm a management and i/o psych major. It's cool, but it took me 2 years to get to this point where I"m happy with the direction.

Looking to get my BS in Business Admin, with concentrations in Finance and Mgmt. & the Environment. Looking to either do consulting for companies looking to use corporate social responsibility as a strategy to improve financial performance, or possibly looking to get into renewable energy design/build project financing and management.

I'm double majoring in applied math and either physics or integrated physiology.  I will probably end up going to med school if i cant find anything to do with my life besides that.  To be honest, if you have a respectable degree in somnething, a lot of companies will hire you and teach you the craft.

Although you are kind of correct you are mostly wrong.

I am not sure of the pay scale but there is something to be said for civilian vs military.

Seeing the world is probably going to be limited to places like Del Rio Texas and Enid Oklahoma.

A very small percentage of people fly fighters, the majority of pilots fly heavy, cargo, or UAV's. If you want fighters and didnt go to the Academy you are going to have to be pretty hot shit.

I have a bunch of buddies who are in flight school who went to the academy and only 1 of them even wants to fly fighters anymore, way too much bull shit and that is your life. They like what they do but there is no freedom of choice where you will end up and the pay is not that good but most things are paid for.

Advertising and Public Relations.

Started out Finance, then went to Entrepreneurship, then Marketing, then Business, and settled on Ad/PR.

Sweet major, love the creative side of it. Totally recommend it.

I have two semesters left as a marketing major and i cross listed a lot of my classes so i have a concentration in both sports marketing and entrepreneurship.. yeah i have no idea what the hell im gonna do when i graduate lol.

air force loves ME too. I am an ME and thinking about the AF because if you are in for awhile it is great work experience and makes you allot more marketable to employers

Im in general engineering this fall. Still completely lost on what i want to do. I feel like i could do almost anything and find a lifestyle that suits me. too many damn choices. but i think i will most likely stay in engineering im looking into EE and forestry

Bio major with a specialization in either Zoology or Ecology. I really wanted to get a minor in Primatology as well but for some reason my school only allows us to get a major which would require me to take a whole bunch of anthro courses I'm not interested in.

My dream job would be in conservation biology, studying animal behaviour in the field. I kind of realize this isn't likely to happen but I figure any job with a lot of fieldwork should keep me happy.
