Underage Drinking Ticket Advice

Hey guys. So we had a party at my house last friday in burlington. At around 1130 we ran out of beer so I run around and try to find a sober driver and someone who's 21. Find my friend erin who's sober and my other friend who's 21. My car was the only one that could get out of my driveway so I say fuck it we could just take mine.

We leave my house and right as we were about to get to the liquor store we get pulled over. Turns out the cop pulled us over because the dumb bitch forgot to turn her lights on. He takes her out of the car first and breathalizes her first. She blows a .018 which is below the legal driving limit for someone who is underage. Anyway he breathalizes us all and apparently I blow WAY beyond everybody(Didn't tell me what I blew though). So we all(except for the kid who's 21) got underage drinkin tickets. Worst of all the liquor store closed while we were pulled over. Talk about a downer.

No my question to all of you is should I try and get the bitch to pay for some/all of my fines. There is gonna be roughly 250 bucks in fines along with other random shit that I have to do like therapy and write an essay.

I really wanna make her pay for at least some but I don't wanna feel like a complete asshole. What should I do guys?

yeaa like she didnt force those drinks down your throat, you drank it, you suggested to take the car... sooo you have to pay the 250, and thats really shitty quite a lot of money for an underage drink.

Its 172 here, one of my buddies has gotten 3 this year.

imo she shouldnt have to pay for any of yours. shes going to have her own shit to deal with, plus its not like you couldnt have told her to turn the lights on. all of you are responsible.

I'm 20. fucking 6 months left this sucks dick.

And to the person saying about the fines. Its like 175 for the fine, 60 something for a therapy session and like 30 bucks for some online drinking class BS

how you could not realize the headlights werent on at 1130 at night? and second NEVER take a breathalyzer, she shoulda said she'd do field sobriety test if shes sober

Don't make her pay it, that would be a dickhead move. She was doing you a favor by driving to get more alcohol for your party...you're not exactly the victim in this instance.

That sucks, but she didn't force those drinks down your throat. And she was the one doing you the favor by driving you to the store, no? I really don't think she should have to pay for anything.

The street was well lighted and we had some of the lights on. and i didn't really have a choice on the breathalizer he just kinda shoved it in my mouth and I didn't feel like going to the station

I got a ticket like that over some bullshit last summer in Vermont, had a few beers and blew a .04 or something.. so whack..

it was pretty shitty dealing with but you're definitely better off just paying the ticket and doing the court diversion, I had to go to 2 alcohol counseling sessions (which were actually mad cool, I had an awesome lady in Burlington she was mad chill) but they make you pay like $40 per session plus the $175 fine I think.. then you just gotta write an essay... pretty shitty dealing with but it's not the worst.

do you remember what her name was? I'm in burlington too and would like a cool counselor. Also do you think I might have to do a couple sessions cause I might have blown something high?(Still don't know what I blew)

if no number actually came up on the Breathalyzer they don't have a case agents you and will get thrown out of a court

Well, I'm pretty sure there is no legal limit for anyone under age, so there goes that one. Pay it yourself, it sucks but what are you gonna do.
