Study&ski / Snowparks in Sweden! Help me guys!

Hi !
This year I'm planning to move to Sweden.
I would like to start studying in the university there.
I haven't been in Sweden before, so I have no idea about good spots for freestyle skiing except Are.
I would like to study and skiing as much it is possible.
So I need some good snowpark close to the place where I will be live.
I was thinking about Borlange, Falun and Umea. 
I'm waiting for your advices and suggestions.

Wouldn't even consider Umeå. There isn't any good skiresorts close to Umeå. It is not that far to Kläppen from Falun and Borlänge i think. Kläppen has one of Swedens best park, Google it, the skiresort is called Sälen.

Haven't you looked at Östersund, pretty mellow town, bigger than Falun and Borlänge and only an hour from Åre by car and train. And there is one big university there to. Check it out

If you want to live near a ski resort then åre is the only big "town" with a local resort.

Both Falun and Borlänge have like 2 hours to Kläppen Snowpark that is swedens top ranked park 7 years in a row. for some vids check out: http://www.klappen.se/Snowpark/Templates/Pages/Page.aspx?id=4210

sweden is a great country for skiing and there is a lots of pretty girls here so get over here!

are has a sick park, well 3 parks, duved is pretty small, but the are has like 3 lines, a red, black and a rail one, also they have a half pipe and some jibs by the lift, it gets very very cold as well. salen is meant to be pretty sick aswell. http://www.skistar.com will tell you everything you need to know, sorry if this is a bit pointless as this is like 4 month old thread haha...

If you can find a place in Borlange you could ski in "Kläppen" (www.klappen.se) it's about 1 hour drive from Borlänge to Kläppen. Imo, it's a much better park than Åre with better jumps and great shape all day, season round, but Kläppen is quite small and if you're not one hundred percent dedicated to park you might get bored there. Åre is really good but quite expensive though.

hey man, i was on exchange in sweden last semester so i prolly can help.

you going there on exchange or for a full program? if you're going on exchange it's not looking good for skiing : most exchange unis in sweden are south of uppsala (stockholm, lund, malmo, jonkoping thats were i was, etc.) and there are zero decent hills in the area. I flew my skis over there, skied twice around my city then took a trip to Are for JOSS, which was sick) but that was it. Basically, if you're south of uppsala, you have to travel long distance before getting to a decent mountain/decent park :(. If you don't speak swedish, i'm not sure how many english unis up north there are but i never heard of one. you gotta make you're own research

I loved my semester in sweden and i would do it again hands down but if an amazing skiing experience is what you're looking for, I suggest you look more towards Noraway. Check out also the Alpes and the Pyrénées, there a TON of unis in france, italy and germany close to them.
