Two sets of time bombs and a brand new ski...I welcome the challenge.
P3s, scratch those off right now, not only have I personally see two pairs blow up with a week or two (one of them the edge came out without even cracking, it was just hanging there, the other the sidewall broke into 3 pieces and the edges then followed), but the kids were telling me they weren't stoked on the ski anyways. Really stiff and unforgiving, and had no energy.
Suspects, these on the other hand are great skis, until the edges go and rip apart the bases. Excellent flex, soft when you want it soft and stiff when you want it stiff, carves great, and has awesome pop, just awful durability.
Step-Ups, Brand new ski from Line this year, one of the most hyped skis out there right now, and for pretty good reason. Same construction as the afterbang, just stiffer, which is perfect cause one of my complaints with the afterbang was that it was too soft and I kept washing out (but I personally like my skis on the stiffer side). The only other problem I had with the afterbang is the durability, after about a month of solid riding (I ride at least 3 days a week and hit pretty much all rails, cause that's all there is to do really at my mountain) I had 3 edge cracks on either ski, then a month later the cracks broke off and I had about 2 inches of edge missing on each ski, and then the last day of the season another foot of edge came off, but I was beating the crap out of them, and since I didn't pay for them, I didn't care about them too much, but honestly, I think they're actually a pretty durable ski, so the Step-Up should be too.
Out of those three I'd pick the step-up, they're just as fun as the others, but will have better durability. Now, I'm also gonna tell you to look into K2 Domains and Liberty LTEs, both are very durable and very fun, so take a look at those before you fully decide.
