Basically, I went and bought a macbook for college and got the free ipod touch. So I plug it in and begin to update it to the latest software through the latest version of itunes. When it was very near completion some error came up and the ipod shut down. Now it won't respond to anything, won't be recognized by either a pc or a mac, won't power up no matter what I do. I've tried different ports, computers, cables, holding the power and home button at the same time, putting it in my stereo that has an ipod port. It's basically a paperweight... Google turned up several problems like this, others seemed to have resolved it by holding the 2 buttons for a while, it doesn't work on mine. I've had it charging for over and hour now, it hasn't even gotten warm like it did before.
It seems to be left without any OS and has no clue what to do with itself. That, or no electricity is flowing through it. Nothing recognizes it, even as an "unrecognized device" or something of that nature. And like I said, no heat is being generated near the port on the bottom like it did when it was working before. I'm probably gonna have to call apple, this thing isn't even a day old. Before I do that, any NSers have a solution? The computer is nice though...
