The US and Canada both have some decent craft brews, and I've been to a few French villages that have gorgeously hoppy outputs.
By far the best is Welsh brews though. Fruity and smooth and unrivalled

Obviously the best nation for microbrews could be said to be the czech republic or Germany, but American brewaries are so freaking diverse, that I'd actually put America at the top of that list...
Seeing as no home brewing was legal until 1979, it took until then for any craft brewing to even happen in this nation.
Since then, with the diversity of the people in this country... english, dutch, german, czech, irish backgrounds and so on, people have put different things together in different beers.. and now we have very very different flavours and tastes, and it's somewhat become a whole culture here with the microbreweries taking down the established, whitebread, boring tasting beers like Busch, Miller, and Coors.
Now, we have many craft breweries which have developed into monsters that still produce the quality they did even 20 years ago... Boston Brewing Co, Redhook, and Sierra Nevada have very distinguished tastes that are unique in all of their beers, have held their 'microbrewery' title, and yet they have become very large in their own rights and sell tons and tons of beer all over the place - introducing people to beer that doesnt suck..
American beers dont suck anymore, my friends...

This is very true. American has some great beers.
Unfortunately, what most Euros know as American beer consists of Bud and Coors Light

this is true. ive never been over there but ive met a few exchange students that have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of beer available here now. they just think we're piss guzzlers over here. hopefully that'll change soon thanks to Stone.
