1. get or rent a good board ie: Victoria, slostik ask around no wooden ones
practice throwing the board so it hits the sand 5-10 feet away from you with good forward momentum, make sure it lands perfectly flat
then wait for a wave to come in a leave a film of water over a relatively flat part of the beach this wave has to be followed by another 2-3 footer further out. run do the throw step as lightly and fast as possible on the board(i like putting front foot first because thats the way you move) keep youre weight even, once you get to the next wave lean back and rotate youre front foot and surf. these are basic steps practice makes perfect...peace
