Replying to Looking to coach a college ski team?
So recently the Stanford ski team lost both its coaches, and were looking for someone to fill their spots for the upcoming season. The ski team generally isn't that intense; about half the members actually race, and we're all up there just to have fun skiing as much as possible. Were looking for more of a relaxed, friendly coach than an intense, high-level coach, although all are more than welcome to apply. Added bonus if you're down to take some laps in the park with me. PM me if you have any questions. The official job description:
Experienced racer looking for a way to get back into ski racing?
The Stanford Club Ski Team is looking for a coach to provide
technical ski advice, help set courses, and act as a racing
resource. We are a club sport at Stanford, with skiers ranging
from beginners to alumni of ski academies. We race in the Nor
Cal division of the USCSA. As coach, you would work with us
through our ten-week season. We are offering a stipend,
along with a free season pass to Alpine Meadows.
Previous coaching experience is preferred. Above all, we are
looking for someone who loves skiing and wants to be part of
a community that feels the same way.
Prospective Candidates Should:
• Be familiar with our league and reputation (Nor Cal USCSA)
• Have previous coaching or high-level racing experience
• Be able to set courses
• Work with all levels of skiers from lifelong racers to just beginning
• Work well with college age students
• Have as much fun as we do while skiing
