The official shoe of longboarding...

I would like to bring to attention that I believe the CROC should be named the official shoe of longboarding...

- They are comfy

- They cushion your feet from vibrations better than normal sneakers

- They provides great grip

- They are quick and easy to slip into

- They are extremly cheap

- They sure are stylish too!

Who agrees?

why not just normal shoes? shoes that are securly tied to your feet = safer for longboarding

I have used flip flops...its all good until you put your foot down to brake because there's a car coming up the hill, then your rear wheel runs over the back of your flip-flop. yeah its just a bad idea overall actually.

use skate shoes

the LY's look actually pretty decent.

Crocs are probably the worst idea for longboarding ever. you foot drag to stop and you'll wear through those in under 5 seconds. then your barefoot anddd fucked cause your still going 30mph

last week on the german autobahn doing 160kmh (100mph) a motorcycle passed us and he had crocs on his feet....

i cringed :(

(i had no actual pic, but i found this one on the interwebzzz to illustrate this most horrendous shoe-trend)

I do NOT footdrag. I refuse to ruin my shoes. I'll carve the entire road, and put my foot down every second or so, which makes for some hard fucking jolts up my leg but it's better than going through a pair of shoes every month. and if possible, riding through a lawn is the best option

Funny longbaord related story...

Some kid in my neighborhood was going about 15 mph. around a sharp corner but some wild Highschoolers whipped around the corner at the same time...so he bailed into the grass and the car ran over his board and snapped the deck ,but the assholes just drove off

shoes all the way. bare feet is kinda cool just for flat land, but riding in flip flops could be one of the most brotastic moves one could make...might as well shotgun a bud light while doing it. footbraking may take a bit of sole off your shoes, but riding into lawns can grass stain the shit out of clothing. i just ruined a brand new pair of reef boardshorts and t-shirt because i rode out my speed into a lawn that was way too soggy and flew right off my board. personally, i like reef byerly shoes because they have a skate sole, but the upper is super breathable and they dry quick if i'm cruising to the beach and they get sweaty or wet. five fingers (toe shoes) are great for running, but the soles are too thin and soft for longboarding. crocs are made of foam rubber, and that would wear through pronto

So when I'm going 25+ down Josh's hill and that god damn pitbull runs in front of me and I have to bail/run it off I'm gonna be able to run 25+ with crocs on? don't think so. And good luck foot-braking with those.

well then my statement is still correct because this was not "high speeds" in any way.The turn was not a blind corner either, it was the dumbass kids that did not slow down or turn out of his way.

I'm a convert as well. so nice, but given that I'm still recuperating, haven't used them for boarding yet. A+ for cruising, but maybe not enough support for bombage.
How about a MTB specific shoe like any of five-ten's. Thick, stiff sole/footbed, unlike standard skate shoes, and using vibram rubber for extra traction that probably takes a lot of dragging to wear out. thoughts?

Sorry but that is incorrect.I do not drive a hummer considering im 14,and never even thought about getting dreads.My board is not a sector 9 it is a Neversummer swift,and im abit young for college so im not pushing around any campus.
