What the fuck is this "first" bullshit?!

So pretty much every time I watch a video on NS, read a blog etc, why the fuck are the first 20 comments "1st", "first", "2nd" etc??

Do people in America/Canada really think this is cool? I'm from the UK, I'm a member of a couple more forums online, and the only people who do this shit is on here.

I know NS is full of kids, but I'm pretty sure there are quite a few people above the age of 12 on here..

I just think it's the saddest, most immature thing, and it's fucking annoying when I'm actually interested in reading productive comments, but I have to scroll down like 20-30 comments until the "1st", "2nd" "16th" shit has worn off.

Just get a fucking life?

And yes.. I've already predicted someone will reply to this thread with the above childish comments, well done. If a non-skier saw this site, they would instantly think all skiers were fucking morons.

I know not everyone does this, but those who do - grow the fuck up!

Trust me. Calling first is not just a newschoolers thing. I've seen it in plenty of other places.

It's just sorta stayed fresh on this site because the front page articles are kinda unique in how they are live updated.

That said. I've been on this site for 7-8 years and never had a chance to call first, but I honestly dont see why you're having a fit about this whole thing. There are a whole lot of other issues going on in the world other than OMGZ WHAT IS THIS FIRST THING? IT'S SO ANNOYING AND YOU NORTH AMERICANS ARE WEIRDOS! Dumb thread is dumb - anyone who ACTUALLY gets upset enough about this shit to actually get annoyed by it needs to rethink their priorities on life.

This...it was funny when I first saw it but just like anything (Cool story hansel for example) it gets played out and people start saying it too often so it doesn't die when it should and that's when it gets annoying. Oh well tis the way of the interwebs...
