Yesterday I was going through my daily summer routine. Bomb some hills on my skateboard, meet up with friends, take a bong rip and then head down to the skatepark near my house.
So I start out bombing the hill I've bombed maybe 100 times this summer. I'm going maybe 25km/h, not very fast. I come around a corner where I have the right of way. So I keep to the rightside obviously to avoid oncoming traffic. I pull out onto the road and there's already a car coming down the block, no problem right? Wrong. He pulls into my lane and decides to play chicken with me. So when he gets closer I try to pull around him and since I have rock hard wheels they get no traction an i just start sliding until they hang up and I get thrown off my board. I hit the road pretty hard and gash my elbow up. The driver of the car doesn't stick around. My wrist is sore but I didn't think anything of it until about an hour later when it started to get pretty swollen. One short ER visit later and I find out I broke my scaphoid clean in half for the second time in the last 4 years. Thanks!
