Is this a problem?

Hey all,
So I just got my first pair of skis/bindings ect ect. and my boots (Salomon Perfoma MG) and bindings (PX12 Jib) don't seem to fit together. Like the toe/front part of the binding don't seem to lock in..Sorry for the stupid question, is this normal?

Nope, that's normal. Nothing to worry about. I used those toepieces for years and there was always a little space in between the extreme front of the boot and where the two arms cup around it over the flange.

One of my buddies always used that as a socket for his poles and then he'd put his weight on them while going down cattracks.

Also how do the bindings work if the little ip on the boots doesn't even touch the front part of the binding inside the triangle part?

They're aren't mounted yet...remember, when the binding is mounted there is a heel piece that is pushing the boot forward (aka forward pressure). It's nothing to worry about, I know it seems a bit sketchy right now, but once it's mounted it will for sure fit together. PX12s are super compatible, so they will certainly fit with that boot.

There will be some room between the boot and the toe piece after you get them mounted too, its perfectly normal. Basically prevents you from blowing both your knees.

Have fun skiing, and remember the first rule of bindings:

Don't EVER fuck with your bindings unless you're a shop tech or know EXACTLY what you're doing.
