Every week there is a new trailer for some epic looking amateur movie coming from overseas. It seems to me like there is much more talent over there than here in North America.

uhhh, good boy..found some spelling errors...ur not so clever right? this thread is about scandinavian skiers, so expect some european writin in here, and well english is not our first  language (except the brits) so comments like this pisses me of, cause u think ur something better! i bet u can't even speak another language than english!

Well, I'm from Finland and I agree with the other poster. If you decide to contribute on a forum where English is really the only accepted language, then yeah, learn to write, speak and spell correctly and not rage when someone points out your grammar mistakes. I've had enough of the "It's not our first language" card, it's still no excuse - but no hate. It's true that probably a lot of skiers from North America do not speak any other language as well as the rest of the world speaks English, but that's the way of the world, not a sign of stupidity.

okok, i totally disagree with u! ns might be an english only site (except regionals) BUT it's about skiing, about our passion (i hope so at least) and the members gather from all around the world...so excpect to have some people without a huge vocabulary and maybe some mistakes in their sentences. YOU SHOULDN'T GIVE A FUCK about mistakes when u understand the meaning of a post, cause it's about that and not about handling in a essay to ur professor ( or a post :P). i know there is a lot of hate on ns, u can't really change it, but i get pissed when an orange name has to post some worthless hate that is totally non-topic!
hope u understand what i mean ^^ i didn't care about mistakes, but i'm really happy for u that ur english is perfect!

Yeah, I know what you mean, I just meant that I hate when it always comes to the discussion who knows which language better and so on. It's very different when someone like Hurrisun (for example) posts in quick type and gangsta lingo compared to a non-English native trying to get their point across.

having lived my last year in CO and the other 17 in norway i think its time to clear things up.

1. Talent can not be measured without following an athlete from his/hers first day till the top of his/hers career. But many Scandinavians/Norwegians that skis got put on XC skis as early as they could walk, which helps building balance and confidence.

2. More jibbers in scandinavia? NO FUCKING WAY! If all you American freestyle skiers would come here our parks would be so packed you wouldn't be able to move, but compared to population (we got 4.8 mill), there are less gapers. But still just as many stupid gapers cruising the park and yelling at us for being a danger to other skiiers. (your typical texan on skis is from denmark in this case)

3. Yes we do have more money than you, while my friends earn $8-12 in America, I earn $19 working at a fucking GAS STATION! But there's a reason all the pros and semi-pros travel to America because of your amazing parks! There's no more money in skiing here than over the pond to you guys.

4. Who the hell brought basketball in here!?!?! WE DON'T EVEN KNOW ALL THE RULES! We play it in school (obligatory), but we don't count offence or defense fouls, just don't run with the ball!

Conclusion: Norway fucking rocks at skiing/editing, and the people are more skilled because we are goddamn VIKINGS!

I lived in Stavanger Norway for 6 years before i came to the states. It was such a better place to live. I remember taking the metro bus downtown to see a movie in 4th grade by myself or just riding my bike with my skateboard on my back to all the different skateparks. So chill.
