Reverse sidecut skis?

Im looking at maybe purchasing a pair of either Moment Donner Partys or a pair of Armada ARGS'S for this upcoming season. Ive never skiied a reverse side cut ski so I have no idea how they would be for me. Im 205 lbs, and I ski pretty agressive. I love charging groomers when im getting back to the lift and I love doing the 15ft-20 ft drops. And I prolly ski about half of my day switch. But I want a ski that I can charge on in the bowls and something that wont ruin my life if I ski it over 45 mph. So I need some advice. Looking to throw Jesters on which ever ski I get. Im also down for recomendations on a ski that isnt reverse sidecut. Thanks ns

You are not going to be bombing down groomers on any reverse sidecut skis, just sayin.

Armada JJ would be a better ski for you. Unless you ski chest deep powder every day, the JJ will be a much better ski that you can be used as an all around ski, not just a deep pow ski, like the ARV.

I have the ARGs... They are not what you are looking for. At your size and what you want I wouldn't look at any reverse sidecut skis. A more traditional shaped powder ski would serve you much better. Plus the ARGs run to short for a person who weighs over 200.

dps lotus/praxis pows are the 2 I would be looking at, but a few things first

1. you wont be bombing groomers as rowen already said, unless you want to die that is
2. at your weight your considering jesters? yeah, um, no. sth16/916s

i love the royal family and i havent had any problems with jesters at all. and there just as bomber as the sth 16's, maybe even more.

thats weird since pep, mahre, pollard, and dadali all ski jesters. and who skis sth 16's?

Spend a few days on TGR soaking up some real gear advice. You'll understand why STH's and FKS have the reputation they do.

ive seen multiple pairs of jesters brake after just one season in many different ways, ive yet to see a pair of sth16s brake unless they have been skied incredibly hard for a long time.

i dont find jesters safe at all, and I would never suggest them for anyone. why would you ride a binding that squeaks while your in it, and doesnt have a strong feeling when clicking in? plus every time ive ridden them I always eject when I shouldnt have. Never had any of those problems with sth16s/916s

Well that really doesnt make any since considering that im between 205 lbs and 210 lbs and ive skiied griffons, jesters, and griffon schizos and i only ejected on the griffons because i had the din at 8. i ski very agressive and ive never had a problem with the royal family, thats why I stand by marker 100%, People can ski whatever they want. But deffinatly for people over 200 lbs ski the jesters or the jester schizos.

I had griffons last year and had no problems other than with the brakes, I have had multiple problems with my 3 times replaced px12s however

Pretty funky shape, about as close as you can get to reverse sidecut while still being able to bomb groomers.  I ride them every day (not just for the pow) and love them, and they are pretty bullet proof.  Hella fun ski though.

And for the record, FKS and STH aren't bombproof either.  I've had trouble all year blowing out FKS.  If you like the Jester and it holds up for you then use it.

Pollard used to ride 916/STH16 before he signed for marker. A lot of pros use sollys even though their skisponsors carry other bindings, for example both seth and hjorleifsson uses 916/sth16 (K2-marker, 4FRNT-tyrolia).

That being said, Jesters are'nt bad so if you don't have any problems with them, just go for it. But the day you start getting problems, there are more durable bindings.
