Free Amazon Prime for College Students

Just found this out, if you're a college student and have a .edu email address you can have Amazon Prime for free. The biggest incentive to this is clearly the Free Two Day shipping on most items including most Textbooks, which is sweet (It works with other items too, I just used it to get free two day shipping on a GoPro HD).

Does the 2 day shipping work on used items? Because I never buy new textbooks and I know that people can sell on Amazon sort of like Ebay. I ordered a textbook last semester and paid "expedited" shipping and it took over a week.
