Main goal in life--help others have as much fun as I'm having. There is nothing I would rather do than aid in getting every single individual I can possibly reach exposed to the same joy that snowboarding/skiing/sledding/snowfort building has given to me. To me, 686 is a company that honors this in a way that so many companies seem to be forgetting these days. It is so obvious that you really appreciate your customers by creating amazingly creative high tech fashionable products.
Three years out of college and I've had more experiences than my concussions allow me to remember. I've been partaking in a devoted love affair with Mammoth since. But alas, in April I made the switch back to reality to have the opportunity to offer my enthusiastic and eccentric winter appreciation to the world.
Believe it or not, I have found some time to contribute to civilization--sometimes still with boots on. I have 6 years of freelance webdesign and programming under my belt with the recent majority being primarily programming and some design with in the action sports community. Using wordpress, html, css, and ecommerce solutions, and a lot of other content management systems I have been able to aid with start ups, non profits, and even some mid-size and large companies. I'm familiar with the entire adobe suite as well as a slue of other software such as Final Cut, Microsoft Office, and Corell. Most of my tedious, scrutinizing behaviors came from my stint at working for the I&IT department at Cal Poly Pomona where I instructed professors and students on web design and adobe software and aided the university in the creation of many microsite adhering to very strict graphic and accessibility standards.
I also have a diverse marketing and sales background which hails from many hours helping out and volunteering time to friends in the action sports industry. I started out with several years working for Zumiez at both the Mall of America and Ontario Mills Malls as a sales associate, then board tech, and finally lead cash rep. I spent 2 seasons as an outside sales representative for Mountain high working tradeshows and establishing relationships with more than 40 Los Angeles shops. I've also spent the last year heavily working with Patty Segovia and All Girl Skate Jam handling social media, marketing requests, online updates, and event promotion utilizing everything from facebook to establishing relationships with bloggers and athletes. Most recently, upon my return to Los Angeles, I had an amazing internship with Malakye in which I was their social media specialist and aided in the development of their online presence as well as updating a lot of content on their website including Mike West's blog. It was an amazing opportunity, but was short lived on account of my current position.
Presently I am working at a new company in the luxury lifestyle industry. I really enjoy the position in that it entails everything your position at 686 requires including a few extras like helping design the MAGIC tradeshow booth and making linesheets. However, it is a luxury brand and I'm not exactly the Perez Hilton reading type. I love the work that I do and feel the appreciation from them every day, but they know and I know that their company is not home for me.
I without a doubt know that 686 would make an amazing home for me. I have so much ambition right now and I want to make sure that this momentum is carried into the right industry/company/world of greatness. 686 is an amazing force in this industry right now and I can't wait to have it become part of my Arts district neighborhood. Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to hearing from you.
