Should I go for it?

So, the other day I went into my local shop. I went in wanting to get something with a fat-ish waist (90+)and with rocker. I like to play around and do butters and what not, but I also want to progress in the park. I usually go the local parks but I also ski with my parents and go to places like Jay Peak (I could possibly be moving home mtns to Sunday River soon). Well the shop has 169 2008 fujatives that I could get with new marker bindings for $400.00 or $250.00 w/out the binders. I am pretty stoked on the idea but my main drawbacks are:
1. Not rockered (which I did want to try, but the skis sound quite fun)
2. I am 5'9" (probably still growing, I'm 14) and the skis are 169 length. I fear this will be to short to last for a long time

I could get an ar6 from last year, or last years alpha 2's (which are probably waaay to park specific)By the way, I am really looking for good buys so I dont have a ton of options for my price range

So NS, should I take the deal or keep looking?

i love my ar6. i used them as an all around ski mounted at 2.5cm back from centre and they worked perfect

As far as size, K2's 169 is not 169...my 169 Domains are longer than my 171 Phil Laroses...by quite a bit, I'd say they're about 175ish, I'd measure for you, but they're in the shop being mounted. But, I'm around your height and I'm riding 169 K2s this year. What I would do is go to the shop and measure them to you, how big are they on you, if you consider yourself a beginner, you want them between your chin and noes, if you consider yourself to be intermediate, you want them between your nose and eyebrows, if you consider yourself an advanced skier you want them between above your eyebrows and an inch above your head, longer than that is just a preference thing.

As far as the skis, the Kung Fujas is a dope all-mountain ski, that also does work in the park, it sounds pretty perfect for what you're looking for. If you're stoked on the deal, the go for it, you can look around if you want, but consider this, most likely if you buy your skis online, you'll have to pay extra for mounting, I think a lot of people forget about how expensive mounting is when they buy skis online, but if you buy them in the shop, they usually give you a break, some shops even throw in mounting if you buy a package or buy a lot of stuff.

hey. just giving some advice, from what ur saying, i would get the k2 domain in 169 for u. it might actually be a little big on u. but the domain sound perfect for you.

super park specific; id keep looking if you want something you can rip park and all mtn with. plus go a little fatter for the pooder if i were you; theres a lot of midfat ~95 park skis out there now.

wow...how'd I fail that hard...

Fujatives are pretty sweet too, not my favorite all-mountain/park ski, but still pretty good, not sure I'd drop $200 on them though. If they were Kung Fujas, then I would for sure.

What about something like last years volkl bridge? I liked my friends when i skied them. They seemed poppy and fun

Bridges are pretty fun, they're similar to the old Kung Fujas without rocker, if you can get a sweet deal, go for it.

Go back into the shop and tell them just bc you are 14 doesn't mean you will let them blow smoke up your ass. Tell them you need atleast 177-179 in length and you will not pay 250 for those skis that are 3 years old : )

But if all you ski is park and you want a short ski offer them $300 cash with binders. The fujative could be a really good all around ski for an eastsider.

well after more searching I found 09 k2 extremes with marker griffon schizo binders for $500.00. Could this be a good deal for me? The price seems good but i have been proven wrong before.............

You don't need a rockered ski to butter. Fujatives are soft. Of K2s do indeed run long, then they should be fine.

Although as someone said above, that a hell of a lot for a 2008 ski.

Bluehouse Antics in 174 are £250 on the website at the moment. They're a better length, and soft too.

alpha 2s work as an all mountain ski. I am not saying they are good, but it is possible. I used my alpha 2s almost all season, no matter where i skied. It's up to you though

How are they all mtn? I have also heard that bluehouse has bad durability. I assume that by now they have that worked out but I just want to make sure.

i have them and there great. but 250 for them wow. i got mine 3 years ago and payed 250 for skis and bindings. you are getting ripped off if you buy them. they are great skis though but i would go with the ar6s if you could.
