I need a suggestion on a computer part, or atleast point me in the right direction

well if its new and under warranty get that shit replaced.

and on my old toshiba i replaced the fan and it wasn't that hard. just look for tutorials on the internet.

its a refurb, but ill look into it, and i dont need it replaced, the fan works, its just running ALOT

sometimes there is a way to control the fan in the lap tops power management section.

yes it might mean the cpu is in a temp range where the fan has to turn on. where does the exhaust exit from? sides or underneath?

bit of both, its in the rear of the computer, and its right on the edge, but im on a deck, shouldn't it be ventilated enough?

Man, HP's are notorious for being like that. I had an HP laptop which used to heat up too much, fan would be on full blast almost all the time in the summer. Same with a few friends, and my sister's too.

I got myself one of those USB coolers. They're basically like a pad with fans in it, and you place your laptop on top of it, and it's powered by plugging into your USB drive.

I have a Zalman NC2000, but you could easily find something cheaper. Just make sure the dimensions are big enough for your laptop to fit on it. By the way, I'd recommend shelling out like $30 at least, cause my sister got like a $10 cooler and it doesn't do much to help.

ya get a pad or depending on how long you've had it, take it back to the refurb people and tell them that they did a shitty job dusting it out. or try some compressed air in the exhaust slots. maybe the temp reader is dusty, sending your fan into overdrive.

well i get to be laughed at, because during the entire time i was complaining, i was actually converting a movie, and for the entire time, all of the cores, are working crazy hard, so thats why the fan was working crazy, so yeah, its nice and quiet now.
