I've seen other videos like this before, and it never ceases to amaze me how dumb Americans can be. That said, if we went to Mexico and asked someone about Ameri-- nope, they'd probably get it all right.

what people forget when they watch rick mercer is how many people he had to interview just to get enough tape for that segment. and he had to use people over again. of course canadians inferior complex when it comes to americans forget this fact. i'm canadian and i think rick mercer sucks and cbc can suck my dick.

every single time there's a canada vs usa thread the only thing that is brought up is how stupid (fat, lazy, ignorant, dumb) americans are, holy fuck, it gets pretty ridiculous after a while.

Every canada vs usa thread is stupid, because neither side can bring up a decent argument. Both countries are very similar, and each have their own pros/cons. No need to argue over it.

rick mercer is a tool, you can edit anything to make anyone sound like an idiot. some canadians are just as retarded about america as americans are about canadians. it goes both ways. trust me iv lived in both countries

i am from the US, but after living in canada for one year now I can tell you that the majority of canadians are extremely smug. very few of them know much about the US at all and just have a few standard points they bring up all the time (i.e. fat and lazy americans, george bush, etc.). for some reason, they don't believe that all of the same bullshit exists in both countries to a large degree. and they tend to be just as clueless about our country as the majority of americans are about canada. i would have to say at the end of the day i like the overall vibe of the US (at least the northeast) a lot more than that of Canada.

There is very little difference(in my expirience) between (western) canada and western u.s, the only real differences I found is that the u.s. Border agents are usualy more pissed off and there are far more mexicans. Everyone speeaks the same language, dresses the same, every one wastes money on pointless things, complaines about the goverment regardless of who's in charge. There is a bigger difference in eastern vs. Western Canada, than western canada vs. Western u.s. (culture/tradition wise). Both countries have a large population of people who don't care about the other country, and don't feel they need to learn about it, as exploited by Rick mercer (who I don't find funny) in that video. Also and a related note to the thread, One time when I was in California and buying booze, the clerk asked for I.d.,showed her my drivers license, and she said "Oh wow! You're from Canada? You speak very good English!" (Note: I have never been to eastern u.s. And do not know if it is the same case as eastern Canada, i am typing this on my iPhone and don't give a flying fuck about grammar and spelling mistakes, and this is my opinion, not the opinion of all canadians.)

on a similar note, i am from vermont but have been living in montreal for a year and many of the people here have no idea where or what vermont is and it's fucking one hour away from the city! i even had someone at the bank tell me that i could not cash a check b/c it was from a bank in a different province when in fact the check was from a different branch of the bank less than 20 minutes from montreal! so there are idiots everywhere, regardless of the country
