Hear hear. I love indie, but the Flaming Lips are one of those bands where you're like "how the fuck are you this famous after putting out so much shit?"

Seriously. Like, count how many good songs they have on one hand bad, yet so famous. I don't get it.

Well they have a few good songs. The shows are all the same pretty much down to the things he says, but...

If you haven't seen a lips show you really should. The stage anitcs are ridiculous. From the hamster ball crowd surf to the laser hands, confetti, cool lights.

It's something that's worth doing once, after that really no point.

i was just at a concert
he fucking announced to everyone that he was gonna do the hamster ball thing so everyone could be prepared
the music is so shitty and he was just screaming 'let's get fucking high' the whole time
the bassist and drummer were the only one's that did anything. too bad it was the same groove >9000 times for each song
the guitarist just made noise and slapped a keyboard
when i go to a concert i want to hear fucking music not bullshit antics unless you can do both at the same time which they can't
i missed the opening band, fang island, but i got a shirt and cd of theirs
listened to it on the way home and it was sooooooo much better than anything the flaming lips have put out
fucking pissed i wasted a night

the flaming lips have been around for decades and they are awesome. not that it matters, but wayne coyne is a laid-back dude and really nice, from what i hear. you don't have to like him or them.

Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi are still good albums, regardless of their live performances.

And i've listened to Fang Island's album, its pretty cool.
