Going to vermont for a week next winter

I know mt snow is great but any other mountains that have a good park and also good for skiing too?

stowe is my favorite mountain in vermont, the park is good, the terrain at stowe is some of the best in the east and the town has some great places to eat plus ben and jerrys factory is close

Mount snow is good. Okemo and mount sunapee are also pretty good.

It doesnt have a great park but, if you are going to vermont definately hit up Jay peak, unless its out of your way. It is near the Canadian border, but imo it has the best pow/tree skiing in the east. Other than that, Stowe has a good park and is awesome for skiing.

if you do decide on mount snow hit me up. im a rep for them, so i get the passes real cheap, if youre going for a full week it'd be the cheapest youll ski anywhere

Nice Eric

Mt snow has a huge, awesome park, but the rest of the mountain is mostly flat. Mt. Snow is cheaper

Stowe has a great park, slightly smaller and the rest of the mountain has great skiing too. Stowe's ticket pricing is ridiculous.

You forgot about Bolton if you like parks made of sheer ice that are groomed maybe every other week and entire mountains without 1 trail of moguls.

Jay Peak for pow and tree skiing, if you luck out and get a great snow storm you won't care about park.

Carinthia is off the hook though, killer park, lots of cool people

Stowe has the most variety out of all. sure mt. snow has carinthia, but stowe has decent parks, and good terrain. just do not stay in the spruce lodge stay at one of the mad cheap motels on mountain road.

stowe if your willing to pay, but theres lodging about 1 minute away from the mountian for 20$ a night. and a little cabin at the top so you get first runs always and if you get pow its a fuckin gem. shit goes fast tho

Learn a little about the mountain fool. Sugarbush has some of the best side country in the east. Their rails are better than most too

Mt. snow feels like massachussetes bored got moved a little. Go to stowe, stowe is the best mountain on the east coast imo. Stowe has hikeable good terrain, a good park (lj skis stowe a lot). The kids there are really nice and down to earth. At mount snow it is just a bunch of grom wanna be ganstas with there tall tees down to there ankles. I like the terrain and people A LOT BETTER at stowe

Stowe/Jay/Sunday River.

I skied that one powder day at Stratton, that epic one midweek February where they got like two feet...and it sucked. The terrain in Southern VT is just too flat. If you want to actually ski, skip everything south of Killy.

This is true.
I ski at Snow on the regular and its def a little flat. if you are coming to VT for a vacation def head to Northern Vermont. Stowe, Smuggs and further north Jay Peak are all better options.

if you want to SKI and theres some fresh snow, go to mad river glen.  MRG has some of the hardest terrain and trees ive ever skied, also you get to ride the single chair, something every skiier should do at least once in their life

for everyone saying stowe.. it's a great mountain but seriously the passes are like $80 a day, no one wants to pay that. go to mt. snow. though the rest of the mountain isn't amazing, the parks are.

^yes stowe has much more in the way of accommodations, you are only about 30 mins from burlington so if you want to do something at night you can. You can ski stowe cheap if you want, you can also make it very exspensive by renting million dollar condos on spruce. I feel like when i ski stowe i talk to the people at stowe about skiing, when i ski mt.snow i talk about conditions at mt.snow last week and how amazing it is. Also mt snow is VERY crowded in comparasion to stowe. The overall experience at stowe is much better than mt snow imo.

Ill lay your trip out for you, if your dont mind not spending the entire time at one resort & presuming you have a car also since you are from onterio well start from south to north since if you fly you will fly into burlington (i think)

the snow's dumping and youre thinking about where to go
 
1st day.........head to JAY, when it snows they unarguable have the best terrain in the east

2nd day........head south to stowe, hike mount mansfield ski some more power above tree line at that, and have fun in the trees on the way down, they also have a fun park set up

3rd day.......ski the mad river vally, if it dumps ski MAD RIVER GlEN no question, skiiers only and just an amazing place, they dont really make snow so dont expect it to be amazing in november,you catch my drift
                    if it doesnt dump and dump go to sugarbush, there park is fun especially when both peaks are open also if theres a bunch of snow get some locals to show you the slide brook area bewteen the two mountain...i think they also have cat skiing actually now (might be a diiferent hill)

4th day.........head south about an hour and a half and go to mount snow and get some park action in every one knows about carinthia so theres really no need for an explination

5day do whatever head to killi if you want some more park, if you want to go off the beaton trail head to bolton valley up north or magic mountin........or go to smuggs to get some more face shots it if its dumping
