It's saying that skiing halfpipe will more then likely be added to the 2014 games the same year that snowboarding slope will be added. You can think that skiing slope would be added the same year as snowboarding slope!...............

bc they should straight up add ski and snowboard slopestyle in the same year...

and they made that mistake in both 2006 and 2010 by not having ski halfpipe in the winter games but had it for snowboarding... (and they had it in 2002, but i will admit ski halfpipe wasnt ready then)

because the FIS is out of touch and we should stop being offended when they dismiss freeskiing.

it really doesn't change skiing all that much if slopestyle is in the olympics or not.

yeah i suppose i didn't read your post too clearly...

not sure why you want to see skiing not added the same year as snowboarding to slopestyle, but i guess you're allowed your opinion albeit a bad one for skiing's progression

No where in my post did I post my opinion. All I'm saying is that skiing halfpipe did not get added the same year as snowboarding halfpipe so why would you think that skiing slope would get added the same year as snowboarding slope?

Snowboarding slope getting added to the 2014 games is still a huge step for skiing cuz with out it being added to the games skiing dosent have a chance!..............

Am I the only one who doesn't really want to see ANY slopestyle in the Olympics? Sure it would be great for the popularity of it, but it just doesn't seem like an "olympic" sport to me.

just because they didnt add both skiing and snowboarding at the same time in the past for a given event doesn't mean they can't/shouldn't fix that trend in the future

i do agree its at bare minimum a step in the right direction, just too little too late after skiers like tanner, dumont are likely never gonna earn a ski pipe olympic medal due to their age now - a trend that is likely to continue for current pros assuming at the earliest slopestyle gets in would be 2018

Its a good thing for skiing if snowboard slope gets added IMO. If it does get added it will be so much easier for ski slope to be added eventually. If the venue already exists, think about how much easier it would be to get approval.

While I have no problem with halfpipe being in the Olympics... I don't like the idea of slopestyle in the Olympics. Maybe it's just me.

Yes but you need to understand that it's because of skiers like Tanner and Dumont that skiing is getting added to the 2014 games! Yeah the chances of them placing or even entering will be slim to none but they can still take credit 20 years from now that skiing halfpipe is an Olympic sport!.....................

I love watching skiing, and i like the olympics. the only reason why i would want ski slopestyle in the olympics is just to watch it, i dont care for the exposer of our sport.

why cant they get thier head around that skiing has progressed to even OR more than snowboarding and were gaining a bigger audience. skiing should be treated evenly the two sports are almost identical!

every event added for snowboarding takes away little from other olympic snowboarding events, but every event added for skiing, especially halfpipe and slope would crush the ratings, appeal, and overall viewership of other skiing events (i.e. aerials). just a side note, shawn white is going to make 23 million dollars this year.

at least its still progressing the sports i don't care skiing will still get there if snowboard does. I know its annoying but its still progressing the sports so thats all you can ask for

I'd hate for slope to be in the Olympics. I'd hate for park to be taken over by corporate sponsors, and for skiing to lose its soul like so many other over-exposed freesports (read: skating & friends).

Sure, I want skiing to grow, but I also don't want it to become a sport that kids do to look cool, and not because they enjoy it.

The Olympics is all about Jamaicans owning everyone at the 100m and Brazilian women's beach volleyball team, not some middle class people bashing gates and k-feding themselves down a snowy mountain...
