Replying to Laptop help

I have been looking for a laptop for a while because my desktop is very outdated....

I don't have to much cash to spend so please do not say "get a Mac!"

I have narrowed my choices down to the HP Pavilion series ,specificly this model:

it comes with 6gb of RAM but can be expanded to 8gb

it has two choices of graphic cards also

Choices:
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5470 switchable graphics
1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 switchable graphics

I don't know much about computers so thats why I have some questions for you NS computer nerds out there

1.How will this computer perform with editing software and HD footage?

2.Will this computer run videos smoothly ? because my current computer causes choppy footage

3.Is this a good buy or are there better deals out there?
