HV 40 help

hey guys i recently bought a canon hv 40. everytime i try to import video to imovie the video is all purple neon and green neon. i use a firewire adapter to import to my imac. any suggestions?

not sure why your having problems...maybe bad wire??? You arn't importing into a pirated software are you??? maybe import into imovie first (if not already), otherwise it might be settings or your cam...
