so ok this guy the other day was ripping rodeo 7's with no poles and i dunno it was just so lame to look at. the rodeo was dope but the no poles thing just hurt my eyes.

what is up with the no poles? i just don't understand. it's like peanut butter without jelly, dry and fucked up.

Pollard used to ski with no poles, along with a few others. He says that helped him have the style he had today.

I kinda need them for balance... but if you don't use them (and you still rip) I have no problem with you. Skiboarders with poles might be taking it too far, though...

^ i agree i need them for balance I think it looks more steezy when you use poles because the rotations look bigger and the inverts look crazier but i ain't a hater i just don't like to use punctuation

i went to the us open without poles and everyone got all huffy puffy about it, even though i was spinning both directions with out them even the judges hated. chill people there useless you dont ever poleplant in the park or switch so why have them. skis have side cut but now that i have poles im a ton more style.
cant expect everyone to see shit the way i see it cant expect anyone to be dope the way i be it.

^I agree... without poles you just look stupid. they always help me stay balanced. I guess it could help to train without them sometimes but for people that just ski without poles are lame

^Thats almost worse than not even using poles. No poles are for kids who can't control the poles in the air. It just makes it easier to grab without them. Plus you look like a tard without em.

yeah i never know what to do with my hands without em...and they act as a counter-weigth when i spin. im not saying i poleplant when i spin..it just helps...and yeah it looks WAY better

Ahh yes Wazzuskier I assume you are talking about the imfamous no poles kid. He rides Dynastars and has a blue helmet. That kid blows. All I've ever seen him do is stuff off the tinny jumps like really hucked 5's with no grab or the funniest looking frontflip ever. And when he skis down runs he's all out of control because he has no poles.

i used to ski without poles back in the day, i use them for everthing now. a guy i ski with holds them both in one hand because he only uses them for certain things. he used to skiboard so its weird for him.

I used to not use poles. and the first thing I noticed when i started using them is that they help with spins...my spins are a lot more balanced now that I started using poles. Also, poles are nessecary if you ski anywhere worthwhile outside of the park...

poles are cool. they also add to the 'danger' if you will, of the sport. like if you do a certain trick and fuck up, and then your pole hits first and into your face. Its crazy. skiers with poles are like dare devils.(that have better style because they have poles)

If you guys want to ride better learn how to ride without poles. They're just a crutch, without them you will be forced to have jedi like ballance and then when you get good go grab your poles again... you'll be amazed how much better you are, especially on rails.

its really cool that poles hav stuck in our sport. i thought that when people started grabbing there skis, they would be long gone. but they stuck and its a really fucking good thing they did.

IBjibba, mad props man for going to the open wit out poles. I used to rock no poles and people did the same thing! haha they get soooo angry I think its funny, its like they think you are snowboarding or something hahaha. I think since we are in new sport here and its called 'free' skiing we all should be open minded enough to try skiing the park wit out poles, seriosuly. You bought twins to try new things? well why not just give it a shot one day and if u dont like it you dont have to keep doing it. Just a thought. I mean shit i remember when people said grindin on skis was gay back in the day-that it was sooooo stupid and lame- but NOW look at it. We all do it.
